The number of unmasked shoppers this afternoon at @Target boggles my mind. (I was there for curbside.) I think @GovTimWalz has made largely good decisions throughout this, but Minnesotans are making him look like a fool this weekend. It’s really disappointing. #StayHomeMN
I wonder about the calculations retailers like Target are making in deciding about mandatory masks. I suspect they fear violent protest more than economic loss. I bet they expect enforcement would be the last straw for employees whom they’ve already pushed near breaking.
And then you remember that even if a massive corporation wanted to try mandatory masks, it wouldn’t matter. Every unmasked person entering a crowded public space is cosplaying as the president. And from that point there is only despair at the utter abdication of responsibility.

When I send a patient home from the hospital, the goal is for them to stay home. Worst case scenario for me or them is to get worse at home and have to come back in. That is MY fault when it happens. 2/8
Being in the hospital is hard for my patient. Hard bc they are away from their family and friends. Hard bc they can’t work. Hard bc they will have a bill to pay at the end of their stay—a bill that gets bigger every day of hospitalization. #M4A 3/8
.@GovTimWalz and his admin are working hard to to deliver on testing, tracing, & isolating. MNs need to continue looking out for each other w/ smart social distancing. If we do this well, we can continue to turn the dials and take steps to reopen smartly and safely. #StayHomeMN

When influenza ravaged Minnesota a century ago, folks knew that #StayHomeMN was the way to be a good neighbor. Today @GovTimWalz is asking us to do the same. Stay safe, Gopher State.
In 1918 Minnesota used social distancing to fight a global flu pandemic. Rules may vary by time and place, but #StayHomeMN is still good public policy.

3. New cases first: The daily number of NEW cases in MN continues to run relatively flat. It has ranged between 22 and 66 for the past 11 days. So NEW cases are not rising exponentially as we have seen in some other states.
The #StayHomeMN executive order from @GovTimWalz begins Friday night and continues for 2 weeks.

Observations with Minnesota's #coronavirus data. We still thankfully only have one death. However cases continue 2 grow & are tracking similar 2 other locations where cases roughly double every 3 days. Testing is decreasing 2 only the really sick #covid19 #mngov #StayHomeMN
Percentages listed don't mean much and aren't really comparable to each other because the testing criteria is clearly changing and becoming more narrow. Also we haven't been able to find good data for the daily hospitalizations ... so not clear what condition these "+"s are in.
Others have mentioned that Gov of Minnesota alluded 2 data (presumably mobility of residents via cell phone data) that Minnesota residents are taking this seriously. And our movement is lower than most other states & comparable to "shelter in place" states. Anecdotally I concur.
