Sounds like 150-200 demonstrators are gathered #downtownMpls, didn't get location. But responders are saying they recognize many who were involved in prior property damage and other crimes. 13:32

With what we know about the lag time from infection to hospitalization, we can guess that this spike in care needs likely came from people getting infected about three weeks ago. m.startribune.com/minnesota-heal…
Remember these news stories about Minnesota moving from an A to a D in a social distancing report card? Dateline May 7th. This data is also what the governor referenced when he announced he was turning the dial up and allowing slow reopening of businesses minnesota.cbslocal.com/2020/05/07/min…
While this spike is likely from infections that happened before the new orders—(again, assuming, given the lag time between infection and hospitalization)—it is worrying given that now people will be moving about even more. startribune.com/how-minnesotan…

I have the duty to enforce MN law & @GovTimWalz’s Stay Safe MN order, protect Minnesotans’ health & protect businesses complying w the order from unfair competition. I take that duty seriously. This is why I’m suing St. Cloud-area Shady’s bars/restaurants. ag.state.mn.us/Office/Communi…
The vast majority of Minnesota’s bar & restaurant owners are doing the right thing during the #COVID19 crisis by keeping their doors closed & protecting their employees & customers. I know it’s hard on them. They deserve the thanks of all of us for doing the right thing.

Today we announced a cautious, measured turning of the dial toward a new normal. Our Stay Home Order will be replaced with one that encourages Minnesotans to stay close to home and allows retail stores and main streets to safely open.
We asked you to take drastic action. We asked you to stay home to slow the spread and give us time to prepare. And with that time we built out hospital capacity, we increased ventilators and ICU beds, we sourced critical care and PPE, and we launched a landmark testing strategy.
Thank you for your sacrifices. You have saved the lives of thousands of Minnesotans. With the capacity that we built while you stayed home, we can chart a new way forward. We can take a measured, Minnesota approach that protects public health and improves economic stability.
