Prior to the arrival of the new EHRC Chair this organisation regularly put out guidance that did not uphold the Equality Act. The Chair at that time had worked for Stonewall & so it was no surprise that guidance was in line with Stonewall’s stated position on the rights of the T
Complaints about EHRC not upholding the law went nowhere & Stonewall confidently went about their business knowing the EHRC had their back. Now things have changed, the EHRC sees itself as impartial with a responsibility to balance the rights of everyone in society.
The out pouring of condemnation from Stonewall and others, who all have a vested interest in promoting gender identity ideology, has nothing to do with upholding equality for all. The LGBT umbrella has been used to progress one of those letters at the expense of the others.

Conversion Therapy is a terrible thing for adults but immediate affirmation that a child is born in the wrong body can also be seen as conversion therapy. Puberty Blockers are not reversible & many who have transitioned speak of regret & not having understood the consequences
The Consultation on Banning Conversion Therapy has both the rights of adults to be protected from cohesion to reject their sexual orientation & the for children to be prevented from receiving an understanding that fears of puberty might signify other traumas that need addressing
