@amyklobuchar needs to clarify this ASAP. Profit-motivated vendors and others use the misleading phrase “voter marked paper ballots” to include either #HandMarkedPaperBallots (democracy’s gold standard) or crappy barcoded paper printouts from hackable ballot marking devices. 1/
These vendors and others know the difference, but the media and the public do not. It’s a scam that enables vendors to sell touchscreen barcode ballot marking devices (that all independent IT experts advise against) as “paper ballot” systems. 2/
They are able to get away with this because there is no universal definition of “paper ballot”. It is a fraud on the public, and we must ensure that all our POTUS candidates understand the importance of #HandmarkedPaperBallots and that #BarcodeVoting is a scam. 3/
