Novorossiya (lit. « Nouvelle Russie »), fait référence aux 8 oblasts du Sud-Est de l’Ukraine hors Crimée : Karkhiv, Louhansk, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporijia, Kherson, Mykolaïv et Odessa (plus, éventuellement, deux petits morceaux de Moldavie).
Hors Crimée parce que la Crimée (y compris Sébastopol) est — de très loin — le territoire le plus russophile d’Ukraine, celui que Poutine pensait (à juste titre) pouvoir annexer militairement sans prendre trop de risques.

I remember the EuroMaidan self-defense forces, who were coordinated by some retired officers of the Soviet army, by UNA UNSO. I remember the smell. I remember that I was scared for them as most had only some sticks from shovels, shields they stole from Berkut, and Molotovs⬇️
They were very different. Some of them brought guns and Medieval weapons from some cosplay, others had chains. Right Sector seemed scary and suspicious until you offer them a tangerine. ⬇️
