Vor 88 Jahren wurde der Dichter Vasyl Symonenko geboren, Mitglied der "Schistdesjatniki". Zusammen mit Alla Horska und Les Tanyuk entdeckte er 1962 im Wald von Bykivnya bei Kyiv ein riesiges Feld mit Massengräbern der stalinistischen Repression.
