Will Slovakia avoid „Czech scenario“?
Health minister #marekkrajčí 16.10. first time publicly compared the second wave COVID-19 trends in Slovakia and Czech republic in a chart showing that Slovakia is following the scenario in Czech republic with a delay of 2~3weeks.: Source:
Trend chart from few days ago (22.10.) was even worse and clearly showing that Slovakia is repeating the Czech scenario: Image
Somewhere here we should be looking for motivation of the government in Slovakia and prime minister #igormatovič to solve the problem of rising second wave of epidemics and dark vision of collapsing health care by unusual way - #masstesting in combination with limited lockdown.

Am staying out of the #ToryLeadershipElection, as it is down to members now, but some thoughts on this proposal to merge govt depts:
- I start with a desire for more devolution to local areas, more local accountability / powers
+ have championed #Borderlands + #NorthofTyne
Any Minister will tell you that
- a good relationship with Treasury is key, so integration is attractive ... if you still get joined up govt.
There are good arguments that @DFID_UK + @foreignoffice could, + probably, should merge to create synergy of govt approach 2/

This looks like good news from @TPRgovuk, opening the door to a #USS deal on the basis of the Sept 2017 valuation involved in the initial @UCU recovery plan, if only the remaining hold-out VCs will accept this. 1/x
But we should in any case beware one kind of mistake which comes from treating @TPRgovuk as some unmovable exogenous constraint on a #USS deal. (1) The #tPR view itself is in part a function of VC’s avowed positions on risk levels. 2/x
And, (2) as @AdamJTucker has pointed out, there is a good degree of flexibility in how @TPRgovuk operates, and its regulatory framework allows space for appropriate intervention from the government. See embedded thread:
