Thread: The @StateDept and the fugitive bomber
2
It starts with how @NedPrice, @StateDept mouthpiece for the claim that accountability is needed in the cases of an @Aljazeera reporter and a girl on a Jenin rooftop, both killed in gunfights where #PalArab shooters were wildly active, avoids all mention of my murdered daughter.
3
You need to follow social media posts to understand the point. Since 2017, the mainstream media suppress how Jordanian terrorist #AhlamTamimi, an indited fugitive from US justice, admits she's the bomber of a pizzeria filled with Jewish kids. Jordan illicitly safeguards her.

In Tampa FL Friday, Jordan's king met the commanders of US Central Command and US Special Operations Command to discuss "regional and international efforts to fight terrorism within a holistic approach."

This is troubling.

Is a terror policy called "holistic" when it means harboring America's most wanted female fugitive terrorist #AhlamTamimi? That's what Jordan has done since 2017. The @StateDept admits (too quietly) that Jordan is breaching its 1995 extradition treaty obligation to the US.

For shabby political reasons, Jordan gets away with refusing to extradite the @Sbarro bomber who murdered 15 innocents and has became an Arab celebrity and icon. She's free because that's what @KingAbdullahII wants. US officials want him to be happy. And let justice be damned.

To our friends in the @TheDemocrats:
The extradition of @Sbarro monster, @FBIMostWanted fugitive #AhlamTamimi, has been blocked for years by Jordan. It obscenely opposes US efforts to prosecute her and says the 1995 extradition treaty obliging them to hand her over is invalid.
/2
But it is valid. #Tamimi doesn't deny her key role in the murder of our daughter Malki, 15. Since 2012, my wife and I have pressed the relevant parties to end this charade and get the fugitive into @FBI custody. That we haven't succeeded isn't for lack of trying.
/3
To our dismay, the @StateDept keeps wanting what we want - #Tamimi in US court facing US justice as US law requires - but says it via what we view as pointless mantras... while routinely praising and rewarding Jordan at every opportunity. Clearly something's wrong.

Qatar's @AlJazeera says it's rescreening on Feb 12 a sentimental Arabic-language tribute to @FBIMostWanted #AhlamTamimi (screen cap below minus the violins). The 15 lives she obliterated in the @Sbarro massacre goes unmentioned. Qatar's ruler was a @WhiteHouse guest last week. Image
For nearly five years, this is the strongest statement the US @StateDept has put out on those rare occasions when someone from the news industry asks them why this unrepentant terrorist, living free and influential in #Jordan, still hasn't been handed over to US justice. Image
As the fifth anniversary (March 14) of the US federal charges against #AhlamTamimi approaches, we're asking media, justice activists and America's Jewish organizational leadership to stand with us and call for unconscionably delayed pressure on #Jordan to finally happen. Image

Two US nationals were murdered in the bombing orchestrated by Jordan's #AhlamTamimi; a third is still unconscious. Tamimi calls the massacre "my operation". She's lionized for it.

Why has no US official ever demanded publicly that Jordan extradite Tamimi as the treaty requires?
Thanks to years of cynical protection by Jordan, confessed bomber #AhlamTamimi is a pan-Arab media celebrity. Clever interviewers and ethically-challenged hosts 'forget' to ask Jordan's king, a frequent visitor to Washington, how Jordan justifies disavowing the 1995 treaty.
@CNN's celebrity interviewer @FareedZakaria stands out for repeatedly hosting Jordan's king without once allowing Jordan's shameless harboring of @FBIMostWanted terrorist #Tamimi to spoil the fun. What would you say to him if it were your child who was one of #Tamimi's victims?

“Instead of engaging with us, the @StateDept issue statements where they say "in response to the #Tamimi extradition, the US is determined to see her brought to justice and we will not rest”" @arnoldroth told @DailyCaller. “It’s clearly untrue.” dailycaller.com/2021/07/20/bid…
We're parents of a child murdered in a massacre for which a Jordanian terrorist claims 'credit'. We seek to communicate our message during @KingAbdullahII's long current DC visit. @StateDept reacts mostly with mantras, derision, silence. Yet look at this
Give us a voice, ladies and gentlemen of the news industry. Let us be heard on this vital matter of moral responsibility, leaders of @StateDept. Hear us on accountability and core democratic values, @SecBlinken. We don't intend to let you keep silencing our calls for justice.

There's an explosion of cheering in the Arab media today (like arb.im/1343778) at dismaying reports of confessed pizzeria bomber #AhlamTamimi being removed from @Interpol's Red Notices. Most claim she was "accused" of a role in the #Sbarro massacre. In reality...

clips of #AhlamTamimi not only admitting but boasting of her central role in the blood-soaked barbarism that took 16 lives including our child's are all over the web. Tamimi's backers would probably hate for interviews like this one to go viral: #ExtraditeTamimi

Years after our child was murdered in the 2001 bombing of a child-filled pizzeria, we're urged to leave it alone, move on. The most persuasive ripost comes from @BBC which in October, recognizing #AhlamTamimi's status as a celebrity, depicted the boastful killer as a victim.
Care to know the last time the @BBC reported on our ongoing efforts to see #AhlamTamimi extradited by Jordan (which illicitly safeguards her) to Washington where she faces trial for terror offences under US law?

We do too.
But ask when @BBC last gave totally sympathetic coverage to the woman who claims credit for the Jerusalem pizzeria massacre and the targeting of the Jewish children there. That we can certainly tell you.

"Why does BBC promote my daughter’s murderer?"

To @BBC management:

Anyone with a sense of decency and respect for justice knows how inexcusable it is that @BBC gives vital oxygen to the demands and 'victimhood' of the #SbarroMonster [here: bbc.com/arabic/tv-and-…] while ignoring us and the other families of her victims.

Unless you speak Arabic, you're likely unaware that @YouTube's version of the same @BBC video clip had 275,000 views by Friday when it was turned private and thus unviewable. See the translation into English: palwatch.org/page/18280

Whatever @BBC does now, 9 days after its @BBCArabic "Trending" TV show went to air and online, is largely irrelevant. In targeting Arabic-speaking audiences globally, they articulated a message of emphatic support for the "rights" of fugitive felons like #Tamimi. Disgraceful.

The Sep'19 tweet below was just RTed by someone. I'm the father of a child murdered by this famed Jordanian terrorist. Every time I or friends reach out to Jordanian officials, they stay silent. The strategy makes sense for them since the news industry pays no attention.

That's a shabby thing. On one hand, for the US she's one of only two women on the @FBIMostWanted terrorist list with a $5M reward on her head since 2018. On the other, Jordan shelters her, lets her live a free, unrestricted life in its capital. She's never been in hiding.
/3
And the news industry? Those unstoppable investigative journalists? All the moralizing about terror, justice, lives that matter? Did you ever see a mainstream news report about this confessed bomber? A celebrity with her own TV show for years? The incredible life she lives?

Aug 9: On this day in 2001, Hamas despatched its first woman terrorist along with a human bomb on a mission to attack a pizzeria and the children inside. She's built a career as the massacre's spearhead. Now finally there's real pressure on Jordan to deliver her up to US justice.

Tamimi's dream life in Jordan (where she's free and famous) owes much to sad failures by politicians and media. My wife and I, parents of one of the US nationals killed in #AhlamTamimi's blast, are determined that apathy, bureaucracy, hypocrisy won't win. And justice will.

Extradite Tamimi!
A July 2020 Request from Malki's Family
[Video]

Please share our call for #justice! Congress, senior US gov't officials, the media need to hear that years of inaction, of shielding #Jordan from its obligation to extradite the #SbarroBomber, are indefensible.
Extradite Tamimi!

Our petition urges Secretary of State @SecPompeo to apply all needed pressure now so that Jordan, after years of avoiding hard decisions, complies with its legal, moral and treaty obligations to the US in the #Tamimi extradition

The Arabic media we scan daily as we try to get confessed #Sbarro bomber #AhlamTamimi extradited by Jordan to Washington almost never tell Arabic-speaking news consumers what the mass murderer *did*. Commonly call her "symbol of Palestinian resistance" or "hero". #MoralBankruptcy Image

Welcome to our battle #1

March 14, 2017, five years after we asked @TheJusticeDept to go after our child's killer, a US Federal criminal complaint was unsealed with a warrant for #AhlamTamimi’s arrest. The charges had been under seal since July 15, 2013. Why? Good question.
Welcome to our battle #2

US officials told us the same day that Jordan is obliged under a 1995 treaty to extradite #Tamimi - and was refusing. Less than a week later, its highest court ruled the Jordan/US treaty had been invalid under Jordan's law since the day it was signed.
Welcome to our battle #3

Jordan, which now says the extradition treaty was never valid, has extradited terrorists to the US every time it was asked. Why's the #AhlamTamimi case different? Some say because most of her victims were Jewish children making her a Jordanian hero.

Practically everything @MattiFriedman writes is incisive and worth the effort. This latest @NYTimes piece comes with a high-res photo of the devastated Sbarro pizzeria minutes after #AhlamTamimi delivered her human bomb there. My daughter's inside, dead. She isn't seen.

My wife and I first heard of #Tamimi, a woman of 21 back then, much later via news reports. She confessed to her key role, never stopped grinning, confidently told the judges she would get out soon despite the 16 life term sentence they gave her.

/3
And she did. She walked free a few years later in the #ShalitDeal. With unreported help from the Kingdom of Jordan she quickly became a celebrity activist there for terror and its practitioners. She still is despite now being an @FBIMostWanted who faces charges in Washington.

Imagine a fugitive terrorist, proud of the blood of 16 Jews on her hands, was honored with her homicidal husband by the highest-rating TV station in the land:

It's just so thrilling! The show's young presenter, Aya, a sometime-fashion model, gasps on air to the homicidal #Tamimi couple:
"You, the people of the struggle, elevate the name of #Jordan!"

Does she know that, between them, they took the lives of 17 Jews?
ICYMI: The adoring presenter of a Jordanian prime-time TV show gushes to her honored studio guests, the #Tamimi couple (both of them convicted of murder, both released in the #ShalitDeal):
