COVID-19 is a serious disease with a high mortality despite all pharmaceutical interventions thus far.

It also has serious long term health outcomes.

It warrants control just like TB.
We need an international understanding that “Letting Rip” is unacceptable. We need treaties and strategies agreed to combat this.

I’m actually a generally well liked person normally (🤭). Prior to the pandemic and even during most of it my 360 feedback forms often stated my strong points at work are being very likeable, a team player, pleasant.
This is mainly because I listen carefully to others and negotiate to find solutions that are mutually beneficial. I usually deliver criticism with a great deal of care. I use a sense of humour to get through tough times. I notice when others are doing it tough.

I know you are very busy… but this is half an hour of the most important information about COVID-19 on the planet.

It’s NOT ok to allow COVID-19 to circulate freely.

It is not OK to infect kids.

CDC defines influenza as an epidemic disease. Even though it has been around for ages, and is never truly gone from the earth, it comes and goes in waves. COVID-19 will likely be similar.

Endemic illness stays at a constant level roughly.

I don’t think you can just decide to call something endemic at an arbitrary point in time… it has to show some characteristics of steady rate of disease.
I hope we don’t chose to allow COVID-19 to be at very high endemic levels, or have large epidemics. Would be better if it was sporadic outbreaks. Much safer.

The size and length of the outbreak is irrelevant.

Educate people and give them the resources and infrastructure to empower them to avoid disease.

All you need is R<1.

There are diseases that have stalked humanity for as long as humans have recorded history that we no longer suffer from in many parts of the world.

Never give up.

If you can’t save yourself from the first infection, you may avoid a second or third. If you can’t save this generation, you may save future ones from this scourge.

The coronaviruses have a massive capacity to mutate. We must cut down transmission if we are to have any hope of preserving vaccine efficacy.

Meet AY3. Seems to be settling in and *dominating over* delta.
It’s possible that those were two seperate outbreaks in a community, where the AY3 group were partying and the Delta group took vows of being home bound…. but that does not seem likely. 🤔
The tug of war continues in Missouri… we will see which prevails. Delta or AY3.

“Ovarian injury, including declined ovarian reserve and reproductive endocrine disorder, can be observed in women with COVID-19. More attention should be paid to their ovarian function under this pandemic, especially regarding reproductive-aged women.”frontiersin.org/articles/10.33…
Two studies coming to opposite conclusions about COVID-19 and ovarian function?

The first measures AMH, an indirect marker of ovarian reserve during natural cycles. The second measures a hormone inside the ovary and female steroid hormones produce by the ovary but during IVF>
