Wanna share my experience today.
I am back in NYC and the air is, as you know, hazardous ⚠️.
Never experienced anything like it.
Much of my stuff (incl fave air purifiers) is still in storage, but I have 2 SHARK hepa air purifiers here….

They have air quality meters on them that generally read between 95-100 (100 being best).
Today, w windows closed, HVAC on, the readings were around 53. 😱 Never saw them so low. Apt smelled like 💨.
NO air purifiers left in my neighborhood stores.
So….

I called my friend/ IAQ expert @sri_srikrishna 🙏. I knew he’d help me craft the best plan.
He advised me to go to the hardware store (who still had box fans & filters!) and “DIY” a few extra air purifiers.
We FaceTimed in the store so he could help me choose the right parts.

Inhaling wildfire smoke can be extremely dangerous for human health. The smoke contains a mixture of gases and fine particles that can penetrate deep into the respiratory system and cause a range of health problems, including:
1. Respiratory Issues: The smoke can irritate the eyes, nose, throat, and lungs, causing coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, and chest pain. It can also exacerbate existing respiratory conditions such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and bronchitis.
