On 3rd March scientists at our @CVRinfo were able to sequence #SARS_COV_2 from Scotland’s first #Covid19 case. In <24hrs researchers were able to share the data worldwide - a crucial process in informing vital research #WorldChangingGlasgow
Shortly after, @CVRinfo were named as one of 13 key centres in the £20m #COVID19 Genomics UK Consortium, continuing their work on whole genome sequencing from confirmed Scottish patients as a crucial part of the UK-wide scientific alliance 👉gla.ac.uk/news/headline_…

THREAD - #COVID19 UPDATE (14 March): From Monday 16 March all face-to-face teaching on our campuses in Glasgow & @DumfriesCampus will end & course materials will be placed online.

One of the finest examples of prehistoric rock art was discovered in #Clydebank at the end of the 19th century. Buried again in 1965 for protection, UofG's Dr Kenny Brophy & team excavated the @cochnostone again in 2016 to conduct intricate digital scans and documentation⛏️🔬
Tonight MSPs at @ScotParl will recognise the importance of the work undertaken by Dr Brophy, @UofGArchaeo and the countless volunteers from the Clydebank community who helped, including the local fire brigade - seen here helping to clean the stone👨🚒🚒
