Did you know decentralized wireless, also known as DeWi, is revolutionizing the way we connect to the internet?

Here are 8 reasons why #DeWi is the future of telecommunications 👇
1. Increased security 🔒

With no central point of control, there are fewer attack vectors for hackers to exploit. This means your data is much safer on a decentralized network.
2. Greater resilience 💪

If a node in a decentralized network goes offline, the network continues to function as the data is stored and distributed among other nodes.

1/26 Since I'm finishing let me praise the team for what we've achieved in @turris_cz over the past 2,5 years.

...and let me remind you that those were years of the Covid pandemic, years of the biggest supply chain disruptions, and semiconductor shortages in the past 4 decades
@turris_cz 2/26 yet we managed to grow and continued to improve

#Sales and #Production

and that deserves applause for everyone involved! 🚀

This is approx how our sales grew over the years, excluding initial #indiegogo campaigns in the early days.

Not bad, right! Image
@turris_cz 3/26 This is how the sales would look with initial IGG campaign numbers included. (yes, we don't provide numbers on purpose, it's for your imagination) Image

We're nearing the end of 2021 & what a year it's been! I said 2021 would be the year of the public cloud in telco. Was I right, or not?

Check out my top 10 telco cloud stories of 2021! 👇
10. First up, it’s @SpaceX Starlink + @googlecloud to deliver data, services & apps to the #networkedge via its #satellites. Not surprised @elonmusk skipped @awscloud; he hates @JeffBezos. 🚀

9. OF COURSE I'm going to mention #CLOUDCITY at #MWC21. We took over @Ericsson’s booth and #publiccloud took over the show! It marked a turning point in #telco, the public cloud is here! Watch my keynote all about it:

Public Cloud is coming to all parts of #telco.

This is the @totogi charging engine chapter.

Simply put: the key to Totogi's amazing performance is the public cloud.
@totogi is the first charging engine to be designed and engineered from the ground up assuming public cloud. (In this case, @awscloud is the public cloud)
Most charging engines that are being ported to the public cloud, which claim to be "cloud-native," are based on a tech stack of Kubernetes and a relational db. This is a HUGE liability compared to what @totogi designed.

Internet + Telco veteran & investor #BlackRock @KSenanu shared great piece from @BCG on agility in the context of #telco #Mobile . Worth a read given that many are struggling with the move @PeterNdegwa_ has made @SafaricomPLC. It does have its challenges BUT upside is great!
As agile has expanded beyond its origins in software development, telecommunications companies have actively explored taking agile ways of working beyond their software delivery teams.
Approximately 2/3 of telcos globally have run agile pilots or developed portfolios of agile teams. But only a few have made the transition to agile at scale—applying agile to the operations of a full business unit, to their network delivery, or to the enterprise as a whole.

We want to move @SafaricomPLC from being just a #telco with a #payment #platform #MoMo #mobilemoney #Mpesa to a #technology #company. Going into areas that are more #solutions oriented ... a #lifestyle brand for #individuals, and an empowering #brand for #SMEs@PeterNdegwa_
The #agile way of working is not new since it has been implemented by global #media and #online companies such as @netflix #netflix and @amazon #amazon
“What we are doing now is to #scale. Not everyone will go fully #agile, since departments like #Finance will still operate largely in its traditional way. But those that will be affected will be in the #frontend side of the company such as the #marketing and #technology teams.

0/ Estimating market sizes.

A thread for #desi #founders and #startups

How do you estimate #marketsize for your products and services? A list of things to do and ...
1/ Numbers maketh the man

Please don’t quote numbers you don’t own, haven’t derived or understand for your market size.

You are the founder, do the math yourself. Make sure they validate

With apologies to #Kingsmen + @colinfirth_kr numbers, not manners, maketh the man.
2/ Avoid lazy thinking.

It is a bad idea to quote a multi-lateral agency report for Asia for a problem that you are solving.

Don’t tell me that according to World Bank, IMF, IFC or ADB, the FinTech market in Asia will be worth 4 trillion USD in 2030.

Why you ask?

I have repeated these answers for a lot of folks over the past few years. So wanted to put these out there.

Why is @trans_celestial building a space network when there already are other major constellations being announced and launched?
1/ Yep there are two main constellation plans which I term "realistic" at the moment - SpaceX's Starlink and OneWeb
2/ Starlink's launched 60 (congrats!) are NOT final design. they are also just uplink/downlink. no mesh or inter satellite connectivity yet (& no plans when they can realistically achieve that, let alone with lasers). so technically not a constellation.
