Terry Prone, whose company The Communications Clinic acts for the Bon Secours religious order, wrote to a French TV company when the news of the 796 children and babies buried in a sewerage tank first arose saying they would find “no mass grave” at the Tuam home.
'...If you come here, you’ll find no mass grave, no evidence that children were ever so buried, and a local police force casting their eyes to heaven and saying “Yeah, a few bones were found – but this was an area where Famine victims were buried. So?...'

Thread: Attorney General advised Dept of Justice they did not have to contact ex-minister #FrancesFitzgerald about e-mails with #TerryProne & the Communications Clinic. These were among records that Dept originally said didn't exist but were believed held on private email account
This followed instruction from Office of the Information Commissioner that Ms Fitzgerald should be contacted to see what records she held. Interestingly, Dept ended up doing it anyway despite advice from Attorney General. Background to this here: oic.ie/decisions/ken-…
Records also show that during original handling of request back in March 2017, two of Frances Fitzgerald's special advisers said they had no records relevant to the request. One of them was in very regular contact with Ms Prone (names deleted by me)

The special adviser to #FrancesFitzgerald laments the quality of a draft speech she had sent to #TerryProne. Thanks her for "another masterpiece". This speech has been withheld from the FOI release as "private papers" of the former minister.
Sometimes the quality of the speeches she edited was much better. This one was “beautifully argued” and #FrancesFitzgerald was advised to “read it out loud at least twice” before delivery

Thread: So the Department of Justice has finally released those notorious 68 "missing" emails between #TerryProne and #FrancesFitzgerald. Turns out there were actually more than 190, covering a period of more than three years.
The Department of Justice, as instructed by the Information Commissioner, wrote to #FrancesFitzgerald asking her if she had any documents relevant to the request:
The records themselves are "in the post" so all I have so far is a schedule of 185 emails between #FrancesFitzgerald and/or her special adviser with Terry Prone and/or the Communications Clinic. There were another 23 that the minister volunteered as part of the process.
