We needed ventilators, so we ordered them from a tractor maker & a vacuum maker.

Box: today's relatively low #coronavirus case numbers reflect a continuation of the technical glitch reported yesterday. That suggests a likely jump in cases soon.
Box: of nearly 1,600 #coronavirus cases in #longtermcare facilities, 63% are residents; 37% are staffers.
1. @itv's @Peston has been holding feet to flames about the UK's lack of #TestingForCovid19 and shares this per capita league table. UK comes last, amongst 20 countries. But he's getting flak themed: "what's the point in testing "mild" cases"?
2. Speaking as a doctor in the @NHS, and with public health training, I can't see any way to exit lockdown without a BIG increase in public health infrastructure. I think community testing is a key part of that. #TestTestTest
3. However, this seems to be a genuine question people are asking. Why #test? E.g. a few times when I've been driving to or from work @NHSGGC, @Nigel_Farage has been arguing he doesn't see the point. Many @LBC callers share his view; they can't see benefit in testing mild cases.

My husband and I tested positive for #COVID19 on 3/24. We were in self-quarantine since his arrival from Europe on Friday 3/13 after the ludicrous European travel ban was announced. Packed plane&crowded @flySF he knew there was a big chance he got exposed to the virus.
We didn't meet the "criteria symptoms" for #TestingForCovid19, so we were tested by a private medical provider. On 3/28 @SBCPublicHealth required us to sign an isolation order. My husband developed pneumonia. I was mostly asymptomatic sore throat & on/off loss of sense of smell.
Q: What are feasible ways of #trackingCovid19 and the spread of asymptomatic #COVID19 cases in a #community?

The more testing we do, the more actual cases and reported cases converge. That allows people to more accurately asses their risk of infection.

And still our #NHSheroes have inadequate #PPE & struggle to work on crowded #publictransport. The #Tory government are protecting the elite & their wealth while letting the #NHS collapse & condemning many thousands to die. What will @UKLabour do? #BorisResign! /3
