1) If you think math (an abstract categorical conceptualization) can explain the ultimate nature of reality, then that logic also suggests the idea of a Divine Creator is also applicable. #THEISM #theology
2) Therefore, God can be proven to exist because the idea of God is real, and in the domain of mind (which is also where math has its power) God is real and has existence. If numbers are real then so must be the concept of God.
3) What's more real, the number of apples on a table or the number used to account for them? If one eats all the apples would not the concept of their total number be real even if, now, having eaten the apples, they are not visible to our eyes?

A new thread on nityasūris, perpetually liberated souls in #Vaikuṇṭha-heaven who raise some theological problems (at times similar to the ones raised by #angels). 1/8 #ViśiṣṭādvaitaVedānta #SouthAsianPhilosophy #Vaiṣṇavism #Veṅkaṭanātha #SouthAsianTheology #theology
#Veṅkaṭanātha discusses at length the topic of nityasaṃsārins 'people who permanently remain in saṃsāra' and finally refutes it, because it clashes against God's compassion. The main reason why his opponents still keep on pushing is that if there are no nityasaṃsārins, 2/8
the world is going to eventually be empty (because all souls will have reached God's Vaikuṇṭha) and then there would be no point in having the world at all, which He means as a way for them to enjoy karman and get rid of it. 3/8

#thread This may surprise many, but one of the richest books of Christian Theological insight (in my opionon) is the Exorcist by Peter Blatty. The movie too has some strong theological insight as well. Here are some of my favorite moments from each.
"What we give to the poor is what we take with us when we die."
“What seemed like morning was the beginning of endless night.”

Interesstingly, Twitter's automatic #translation fails at translating this simple #poem. (In particular, Twitter does not translate 'Geredes') So I translate it for you:

crib
in the threshed straw
of the empty talk
there is no grain of truth anymore
hunger is growing daily
..
..
for the birth of a word
as nutritious as a grain of wheat.

Remark 1. The "das" in the poem was CORRECTLY cited by the tweeter (cf. docdro.id/x2xiYMH), but it is a grammatical error and should be replaced with the (by the way: homophonous) #subjunction 'dass' )
..
..
Remark. 2. The metaphor 'birth of a word' is a fitting one in view of #Christian #theology, in particular in view of the fact that #Jesus Christ is often associated with the Greek concept of 𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘰𝘴 (λόγος).

Just FYI, there is NOT a divine reason for everything that happens, unless the divine reason is that all of existence happens within a sacred context in the broad sense. But no, HELL NO, suffering is not part of God's "plan" for anyone's enlightenment.
If there is a divine "plan" for our lives it is concerned with the exercise of freedom, the gaining of wisdom, the learning of compassion, the full flourishing of the soul. Suffering IMPEDES these things and this grieves God.
If we think of God in a personal way or in a more mystical way as an impersonal force - no worthy concept of Ultimate Reality or sovereign moral grounding that moves through history + creation has a "plan" for anyone's harm. Period.

Gospel for Tenth Sunday in Ordinary Time: Did Jesus get his power to cast out demons from the Prince of Demons? #gospel usccb.org/bible/readings…
