Been a while since I finished a book in one sitting but #ThinkAgain by @AdamMGrant was that good. A thread with some of my key takeaways:
#Confidence is a measure of how much you believe in yourself versus your methods. You can be confident in your ability to achieve a goal in the future while maintaining the humility to question whether you have the right tools in the present. That's the sweet spot of confidence.
We should strive to attain confident humility: having faith in our capability while appreciating that we may not have the right solution or even be addressing the right problem - giving us enough doubt to re-examine our old knowledge and enough confidence to pursue new insights.

This is a thread to keep track of all books I started reading. Not the ones I read. Will note why I started. Whether I finished. Why I gave up. Why I finished. What I loved. Starting with the ones I am reading currently. I often wonder about these things and can’t recollect why
Recommended by @shawnachor in The Happiness Advantage. Loved that book so got intrigued. Convinced by the reviews and the volume of research done by the two writers to put this together. Also happened to be reading the Instagram book and was primed to know more about networks. Image
I am a United fan so isn’t surprising I bought it. But it’s been lying around for years. I never bothered because I thought I knew everything already. I finally decided to read this after I finished reading 3 books on Brian Clough. More interested to read about the Aberdeen years Image

Nothing to look at here, folks.

Just a country losing all control.

Nobody can even articulate why.

#ThinkAgain #PeoplesVote
Any time @UKLabour want to step in & stop this Brexit wrecking ball, that’d be grand.

Change policy, Labour.
Back a #PeoplesVote
Back Remain.
Articulate why.
It’s not hard.

That other way, madness lies.
Y'know that feeling when you quickly do your homework on the back of a crisp packet on the school bus...

Brexit #WhitePaper now heavily delayed, like, well everything else except Brexit itself.

Today will be trumpeted as a decisive next step, as we take another firm step to the EU door.

We have arrived here in a way by stealth. By triggering Article 50 before we had any idea of the future shape. By trying to hide impact assessments or behind banalities. /1
We arrived here by trumpeting red, white & blue, by setting impossible red lines.

We only reached here by quietly caving in on almost all of them.

And by setting a precedent that makes us likely to keep caving as we move to third party status before we know any more. /2
We arrived here by creating a snowstorm of distraction & by preventing an open, detailed & rational debate about what the future would look like, on the multiple levels of our collective lives.

We arrived here by crying betrayal every time someone stepped behind the bunting. /3
