In the last week I have received 5 different messages, at different times, from different international numbers from 5 different organizations claiming to be the OFFICIAL #ZimbabweanLivesMatter “Team”. Each time it’s to be invited to contribute to various zoom meetings etc...😖
This reminded me of the #ThisFlag moment when we started getting invited to Jozi to attend meetings for a “Hashtag “ I had helped create, answering to a “team” of elders who had appropriated it as their own. This led to the huge disaster that even led to a failed presidential bid
I totally understand the need for “whats next” and “way forward” etc etc but i strongly believe we don’t need online “hashtags” to gain unauthorized, not-voted-for secretariats and gate keepers who patent the struggle and take themselves too seriously.

This narrative is false. How does this even happen? Do you apply to be a “project” or is said croc smart enough to have engineered Evans wife and mine to have been friends at the time from primary school for us to meet 30 some years later and creat a hastag which people could...
Have totally ignored. #ThisFlag was fueled by pure hunger and smart phones. Prof tried other his super funded #Ourflag and people rejected it! You can’t contrive a movement like #Thisflag in a lab.
To be clear: the Minster of Justice at the time was ED. He’s the one who arrested , jailed and persecuted the This Flag team. He then became President then kept @PastorEvanLive in jail & remand for the entire year of 2017!

(1)There r many civil society orgs that were, or are now Lacoste. There is one prominent elections NGO which invited me to present a paper in BYO on the 2018 elections. After other presenters had glossed over what I believed were critical issues 4 the holding of credible elections
(2)I chose to situate my presentation on the electoral environment which I believe, bcaz of the coup, was a poisoned chalice inimical to the holding of free & credible elections. The director of the NGO was very nervous about what I was about to discuss.
(3) I wld say that the Junta used a combination of tribalism, intimidation & money to cow down a lot of activists. I have worked with some of these cdes during the RGM era, listened to their presentations then, but NEVER seen them as afraid as they were in BYO after 2018 polls.

First up, the amazing Zimbabwean satirist, and host of The Week on @MagambaTV , @ComradeFatsooo. The most passionate giving person who wants to grow the SADC satirical community, he works on cheeky political satire in Zim 🇿🇼 under tough conditions. ImageImage
It was he who first reached out to us on Twitter. He later suggested we join an African satire network he was forming alongside the likes of @KagisoLediga @iampilato @bustoptv @xyzshow and a few other huge satirists, artists & activists! We were honoured to be included! 🤩😎
