Update Day 90: So I celebrated too soon in my last update, because we have been Relapse Central around here lately. I've cycled through all my symptoms again over the past 3 weeks: pleurisy, aches, swollen glands, blisters, skin infections, etc. #COVID19 #ThisisCOVID19 #ApresJ90
My husband & kids have relapsed too. Our saving grace has been that nothing has been quite as bad as the first time around. But I am starting to wonder if we will ever feel normal again. Kid 3 & I have gotten some specialist referrals, so maybe we'll learn something from that.
But if anyone in Canada is conducting a research study into long-term COVID illness, I hereby offer you five research subjects at no charge! Take all the blood samples and run all the tests you want. Please.

Update Day 70: This week has been MUCH better. My skin infections are all cleared up, my energy is coming back, and other than waking up every day with a stuffed up nose and a cough that clear within an hour, I'm feeling pretty good. #ThisisCOVID19 #Covid19
We've been treating Kid 3's cough like it's asthma; we bought an air purifier and we're giving her glutathione and curcumin with the occasional Reactine. It's made a huge difference. Her cough is a lot better and so is her energy.
Kid 2 is hardly coughing at all any more and his energy is definitely back. Interestingly, Kid 1, who has been largely asymptomatic, has suddenly had the same muscle aches and hypokalemia symptoms as my husband and I. Lots of canteloupe and coconut water for her.

Update Day 55: This has been a tough week for us. My husband had a relapse of his symptoms, Kid 3's cough got worse, and I've been having some weird symptoms that may be hypokalemia? #ThisisCovid19 #Covid19
One of my frustrations is that it feels like we're on our own to figure everything out. There are no options between a phone call with our family doctor and the Emergency Room. We took Kid 3 to the Covid Care clinic, but all they told us was that it's not pneumonia.
But when poor Kid 3 is having uncontrollable coughing fits and can't catch her breath, we'd kind of like more than just to know it's not pneumonia. How do we deal with this?

Update Day 40: Pleurisy is gone but still dealing with lots of inflammation and very swollen glands. Went to get checked out to ensure pneumonia was gone and got swabbed; test was negative. So remaining symptoms might be immune system in overdrive?
And I've also developed...chicken pox? I've read about COVID rashes, including "chicken pox-like vesicles" but mine are pretty much exactly like chicken pox. So maybe virus or immune response has reactivated varicella virus?
Meanwhile, kids 2 and 3 are still coughing. This is not an illness you just bounce back from. Make smart choices. #StayHomeStaySafe #ThisisCOVID19 #covid19
