If you are a POC in America, I strongly urge you to make the effort & secure a passport. You need more options than most. Only 36% have passports, so if you are a POC reading this, there is a good chance you do not....

Make a plan, even short-term. You need to be able to pivot quickly if the time comes. The world is a big place & you will need to expand your mind on different number of possibilities for your future.

Understood, but if someone can hike 1000 miles through Central America & risk imprisonment (or worse) at the border, you as an able-bodied person in the USA can probably find a way to create a exit plan. Will it be fun & entertaining? No, but do it anyway.
