Sharing an inspiring true story from Ariyalur Tamil Nadu where a group of 80 tribals in a first of its kind initiative obtained rights for cashew plantation owned by a PSU of #TNForest Dept. This was made possible due to a fabulous collaborative work between the office of the District Collector Ariyalur,MD TAFCORN from TN Forest and the Dept of TN Tribal welfare. The Irula tribes living in Kuvagam village collected about 95 bags of cashews working very hard. Kudos 👍 
The tribal community could never think earlier of participating in Cashew auction as they could not bid competitively. Collector provided Rs 5.0 lakhs as seed money. TAFCORN Board resolved to allot Cashew rights to tribal society.This is one of the best models of empowerment
