#TowerHamlets #LabourParty promised 2,000 NEW homes.
In 7 yrs, they managed only 10%. Meanwhile #Labour allowed for public land (inc. greenspace) to be gobbled up by private developers building thousands of overpriced shoeboxes.
Look also to what they did to @TrevesAndLister.
At least 20 Labour cllrs have had shocking performance indicators in terms of their public engagement, number of members inquiries they've initiated, value of return on investment when "Special Responsibility" xpenses are considered + the number of committees/ boards they sit on.
One cllr has been such a no show in 4 years, her ward residents believed they didn't have a cllr. Granted she had a year off for maternity but her group clearly didn't fill in for her. Furthermore, her "Special Responsibility to Young people" has not been good value for money.

@Andrewwood17 @TowerHamletsNow @THConservatives @TH_Labour @RabinaKhan @THLDs @going4golds @RohitKachrooITV @tamhussein @mohammedakunjee Listen to Episode 3 hear @PuruMiah @Andrewwood17 & @RabinaKhan demonstrate what it means to be a true representative of the people. Well done all three councillors and shame on @TowerHamletsNow for its weasel words and refusal to conduct a Serious Case Review.
The words of @PuruMiah were particularly eloquent as he talked of the case of Shamima being only one part of the reality that #TowerHamlets is 'an entire population that has been abandoned by the government'. We can see why he resigned the TH Labour whip!

Planters have been placed around #bricklane as #modalfilters. @TowerHamletsNow claims that local shops asked for it. But having asked around- the response is the same: "we didn't ask for it. First we heard about it was a leaflet last week, informing of this plan". #StreetspaceLDN
This no consult plan is to last till November to allow for "social distancing" and al fresco dining... UNTIL NOVEMBER?!

Residential side streets have become drop off and U-turn points.
Traffic will have make its way around already congested Commercial St. & Whitechapel High St.
There is also the option to make it Permanent after the 10 week period.
Businesses and locals are directing their anger at contractors installing the planters, when those who should be on the receiving end of that anger are no where to be seen.
