It’s all about that winning mindset for LA’s own #TrackAndField athlete Chris Atangana, who’s inspired by Usain Bolt—otherwise known as “the fastest man alive.” Learn how Chris strives to be like the 8x @Olympics gold medalist. 🥇 #LA28 #BlackHistoryMonth
Description: The LA28 logo appears over clips of LA (palm trees, city skyline). The word Presents appears on an overhead shot of the freeway. A photo of Usain Bolt dressed in Olympic uniform with an exuberant expression pops in. His name is in the upper left, TrailbLAzers and

Now the hysteria has mellowed, let’s talk about this photo in a little thread
.
This not a photo of @joshuacheptege1’s ‘over-pronation’ - this is a photo of the foot slipping off the platform as it moves through the contact phase.

The shoe last is generic however there are race characteristics within feet that differ drastically from the last shape.
Those who deal with African and Asian players in football appreciate the struggles of a pes planus foot type wrestling with the last shape of the boot.

So let’s summarise;
This is a photo of Joshua hammering around a bend, leaning a few degrees to the left and his foot sliding through the transition.
It’s not a photo to grandstand pronation vs injury, this is not a photo to grandstand how pronation occurs in elites - cont.

The years 2015-2020 have revealed an insidious disregard for the #female category by #OlympicGames @olympics executives and their corporate sponsors.
Male (XY) 🧬athletes now allowed into XX events.
Time to take stock re #women’s #sports.
Where did we begin?
Where are we going?
Our story begins in the Egyptian Middle Kingdom (2000 B.C.)
Forms of women’s competition were somewhat different than we experience in 2020 A.D.
Contests revolved around two key aspects of #Egyptian life:
1. Food acquisition- #hunting & #fishing
2. Entertaining - #acrobatics
True #sports for women really began in Ancient Greece during the Classical period (400 B.C.). Unmarried girls had their own private competitions - also at Olympia every 4years.
These were separate from the men’s games.
The festivals were held in honour of Hera, wife of Zeus.

The #TrackAndField season may be cancelled but #DragonsMarchOn ... 📝 via @matzen_jonas

JOY, COURAGE, DEDICATION
Track&Field has given me that and much more throughout the last 17 years. It has been a privilege to compete at the intercollegiate level and I enjoyed every second of it to the fullest. Through this sport I traveled the world, met amazing people and life long friends.
For all the returning and future Dragons, I strongly believe that Track&Field will guide you on the right path as well, so go out there and ENJOY every minute it and dont take a second for granted.

The #TrackAndField season may be cancelled but #DragonsMarchOn ... 📝 via @AnnaStCatherine ... This year came and went faster than I could have ever imagined, and I don’t think any of us are completely sure how to come to terms with it yet.
While this is nowhere close to how I wanted to end the year, I’m always grateful for the opportunities and friendships that grow through track. I’ll never be ready to say goodbye to any of our seniors or anyone else moving on from our team,
but I know we all share memories and bonds that can never be taken away no matter the circumstance. Throughout this year, three words that were always on the forefront of my mind were “Attack. Trust. Execute.” when it came to track. Right now, trust is the most important one.

The #TrackAndField season may be cancelled but #DragonsMarchOn ... 📝 via @summerstorm1997 ... I’m not ready to say goodbye, and quite honestly I think I’m still in denial. But track, you have treated me well for the past 10 years of my life.
You’ve taught me self-discipline and how to push myself to ultimate limits. I’ve gotten to meet so many amazing people and will keep as life long friends. I want to thank my coaches for getting me to the point I am today. I want to thank my teammates for helping make the best me.
I want to thank my family for all the love and support. I will miss every second of my track and field career, but also cherish those memories for the rest of my life.

.@realsportshbo revealed another ugly aspect to @NFL concussion story: Under existing terms of settlement with @NFLPA, board administering funds has denied most claims & major diagnoses such as behavioral issues & depression are not even covered. #labor #publichealth #oligarchy
.@nfl claims that many applications r fraudulent. Of course, people should defer to the league, since it's an expert in fraud. It misled its labor force for years about dangers of the sport & it has misled municipal governments into subsidizing its stadiums #GameRecognizesGame
This story represents almost everything wrong in #USA. #Oligarchy begrudges slimmest slices of pie to #labor, & we the #Idiocracy buy billionaires' merchandise made by more oppressed workers elsewhere & use $ from public treasuries to replace functioning stadiums for those with
