Jayden Lowe died on 22/11/2018 after 11 months on the waitlist for the monopoly transgender children's gender service. 7 months on he would still be waiting. The wait is now 21 months & still rising. Some of our kids will never get there. #NHSfailingtranskids

Some ramblings from #TransHealthConf2019 on the trip home. Thank you to @Tara_Hewitt @EnbyLawyer @PeterDunneLaw for organising such an important event, for including a segment on trans kids healthcare

Hearing first from Polly Carmichael and Bernadette Wren, who are talking about the UK child/teen Gender Identity Development Service (GIDS) #TransHealthConf2019
GIDS sees young people of all ages, but the majority are adolescents. There was a great increase in referrals over the last few years, culminating in huge spike around 2015. Interestingly, the referral rate is now beginning to level off. #TransHealthConf2019
11% of young people seen by GIDS identify as non-binary. #TransHealthConf2019
