Plea states that first proviso to Section 184(1) provides for a minimum age limit of 50 years and that it is "arbitrary, unconstitutional and against the directions of Supreme Court in R Gandhi, Rojer Mathew and, in particular, Madras Bar Association case.

In the Cinematograph Act, the Appellate Tribunal has been done away with. The concerned High Court will replace the Appellate Tribunal to hear appeals against decisions of the Board.
The ordinance has abolished the Appellate Board under the Copyright Act.
The ordinance also substitutes the Appellate Board with Commercial Courts (a division of the High Courts), which will exercise the Appellate Board’s powers.
