The case pertains to a locality of Kotwali city, where a woman living in the area was married on July 22, 2015. It is alleged that the in-laws torture her for dowry, she is beaten up for not giving dowry.After a year of marriage, the husband had gone to #SaudiArabia.

International Judicial Conference 2020 commenced in the national capital today under the aegis of the #SupremeCourt of India. The conference on "Judiciary and the changing world" will witness judges and delegates from 20 countries participating over the weekend.

1. The Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Bill, 2019 violates Articles 14, 15, 21, 26 and 29.
2. The Bill says that the marriage would be legal even if a man gives triple talaq (talaq-e-biddat) to his wife, and would get three years in jail.
On Thursday, #LokSabha passed the contentious #TripleTalaqBill criminalizing instant #talaq (divorce) by #Muslim men, with a jail term of up to three years for the husband. In this THREAD I try to break down different scenarios for you to understand its consequences:
