@mathforge @CardColm I haven’t got very far yet... 😂 I’m aware that I owe you a thought-process, though, so I might try to live tweet my doodling for a bit.
@mathforge @CardColm It feels as though the right-angles are pretty crucial so I need to find some way to keep those and maybe play with the other lengths. One option would be to label them (maybe 3,4,5 would be fun?) but this feels like a lot of shapes and labels. 
@mathforge @CardColm I could avoid labelling right-angles by introducing some rectangles. Not sure I’d call this an improvement though.

The problem was intriguing because it seemed like it wasn’t much information that has to be true to force the whole function to behave a certain way.
And now I say that I guess it’s maybe not all that unexpected considering k+1 points of a degree k polynomial are enough to determine the exact formula of the polynomial.
I have a stupid question: I'm pretty sure I remember having seen a construction that takes a bounded hypercover of a topological space X (I even only care about some cosk₁(V ⇉ U) → X and produces an open cover of X refining the hypercover. Or am I being dense?
I might just #trymathslive with this one.
