1- Un #delta és molt més que la zona de terra emergida i suau relleu que trobem a tocar de la #mar i a la que anomenem plana deltaica. De fet, la major part de l’extensió dels deltes és subaquàtica i està formada pel front deltaic i el #prodelta.
2- Aquest és el cas del #DeltadelEbre. Del 2170 km2 reals d'extensió tan sols “afloren” uns 320 km2, el 15% del total, on s’assenta la població que viu allí i desenvolupa una gran activitat agrícola i turística.

Wie kann es überhaupt zum #Blackout kommen? Was muss für den plötzlichen, überregionalen, länger andauernden #Stromausfall passieren? Und wie wahrscheinlich ist das? Das österreichische Bundesheer rechnet mit 50% Wahrscheinlichkeit mit einem Auftreten in den nächsten 3 Jahren.
Das deutsche #Stromnetz besteht aus einem #Höchstpannungsnetz, #Hochspannungsnetz, #Mittelspannungsnetz und #Niederspannungsnetz. Ein #Blackout würde sich in den oberen beiden ereignen und hätte Auswirkungen auf die Netze darunter.

Los #tsunamis son una amenaza que, si bien tiene una baja recurrencia, genera un alto impacto en las comunidades. Esto es muy relevante considerando que para el año 2030, cerca del 50% de la población mundial vivirá en áreas costeras propensas a tsunamis e inundaciones (2/6)
En la última década, Chile logró robuster la institucionalidad y gobernanza del riesgo de desastre, entrenó a millones de chilenos y chilenas con simulacros en toda nuestra costa, y fortaleció la red de monitoreo de sismos y tsunamis en un esfuerzo transversal (3/6)

The basic model shows rock above the convergent plate boundary being compressed and bent as it stores elastic energy. Once friction is overcome, the overriding plate slides abruptly up the fault causing the leading edge to heave seawater upward generating a #tsunami.
In 2011, the M9 #Japan #earthquake ruptured a fault area 500kms x 200kms over an interval of nearly 3 min. Surveys of sea-floor bathymetry before and after the earthquake document up to 50 m of fault displacement at near the Japan Trench.
