*Guy on the subway sees my Dungeons & Dragons jacket*

G: Heeeey~! D&D!
D&D is the best!

Me: Yeah!

G: I had the craziest D&D thing happen to me...

(I assume we're going to talk about hus current campaign or playing when he was younger.)
G: I got in a bar brawl for real.

Me: Like, in real life?

G: Yeah, yeah, YEAH! A for real bar fight and, as it was happening, all I could think was "Aw shit, this is just like D&D!!"
Me: Okaay~

G: So I've got two dudes ready to kick my ass and I'm strategizing like it's all a game. Y'know, improve my armor class or disarm 'em or just anything!

Me: How'd that go?

G: HAHAHA, that's the craziest part!

Not every challenge is a skeleton with a rusty spear- Trap Filled Dungeon! An 8-phased battlemap where each room is chock-full of dangerous challenges. Each is treated as its own micro-phased map so the Dm can reset the phases!
#dungeonsanddragons #onednd @inkarnaterpg
Very happy with this map! It's an 8-phased romp through a collection of classic dungeon traps and tropes. I wanted to give something new a try- this map is meant to be played as kind of a series of small encounters- patreon.com/balatroart
@inkarnaterpg each room you enter the Dm should hide the other rooms and run all 8 phases in that room! Like a bunch of smaller contained phased maps!

What color is the sky in your world? No, really. Does anyone have a world where the atmospheric effects result in a different default than a light blue sky?

Worldbuilding tip: let's talk about the banality of evil. The term comes from political theorist Hannah Arendt who after watching the trial of Nazi SS officer Adolf Eichmann in 1961 noted that sometimes vile things are the result 1/. #ttrpg #ttrpgfamily #dnd
of bureaucrats dutifully obeying orders. Scene chewing unabashedly "evil" antagonists and "relatable" "sympathetic" villains can be fun, but allow me to offer some alternatives. The trope that evil needs to be on the extremes has many problematic aspects, from indicating that 2/
Those with facial differences like scarring must be evil, to simply attaching "good" and "evil" to appreance. These tropes that play to binary thinking suck, IMO. In my history MA thesis on race and gender in early TTRPGS I pointed out that early female characters could be 3/

Hit just over $3800 for food banks & supportive housing! Our donor extended the #charity #gamesale until we hit our $4000, as we're so close! PWYW sales are matched for the fund. They're also keeping the lifetime subscription subsidy. Help us close out strong! #ttrpg #indiegames
1) Wanna say how awesome the #ttrpgfamily is to get us this far! Support has been overwhelming.

2) Could use another #TTRPGsolidarity boost to help close out. Only TWO lifetime subs would put us over $4000 raised. We know y'all can make that happen quick with a boost! Pls & TY!
@LeoBenucciDM,@nerdicted,@OldGitsnDragons, @dndworldtweets, @WillSavePodcast, @AbyssalBrews, @BreeGoodbarrel, @MaddNichol121, @TheWigglyPlant, @killface18: Can we tag a few solidarity people in for a last boost on this? We'd love to take up our donor's generosity & hit our goal!

Hey #ttrpgfamily, since we’re hopefully going to be playing in-person games again “soon,” let’s talk about using a projector to place digital maps and assets on your table for IRL gameplay. (Thread inspired by @StephCampb7 and @n_quests convo) This is a long one! 1/20
I used a projector for tabletop gaming for over a year before the pandemic, and one of my “day jobs” is as an audio/video tech for stage and film, so I’ve got some recommendations and advice to help you get started. 2/20
The first thing to consider is what outputs your computer has. Some have HDMI ports built in, some have VGA, some only have USB. Look at the input ports the projector has or what sort of adapter you’ll need to connect the two. HDMI is my fave. 3/20
