🧵@DrDjWilde making unfounded allegations again

HART were given the right to reply on multiple occasions, including several articles I've been involved in

They keep making these threats of legal action to try and silence the truth, they never follow through.

This is tactics
Behind the scenes I've worked with journalists for a fair few large broadcasters and papers, not just in the UK

The issue is there is an asymmetric battle over the truth

These grifters get platformed by friendly media to spead disinformation, can come out with almost any crap
Yet try and challenge these individuals, their links, money made/raised and its incredible how many hoops must be jumped through, how many barriers are put in the way of those who just want to report the truth.

Editors are very wary

I said the RW lobbyists would coopt scientists in the same way they have on climate change, would create a network of astroturf orgs and then use RW papers and political vested interests to get UK to accept mass infection
#edutwitter #r4today
Look at how the narrative developed on removing masks, depriving children of vaccines, ending isolation, supporting mass infection

Lobbyist funded astroturf demands➡️Lobbyist funded experts agree➡️Lobbyist funded media support➡️Lobbyist funded MPs make it policy
Rinse and repeat
They have blocked almost every measure and now they seek to strip away every protection, they are trying to increase infection.

Next step will be to stop testing children

Taken a while but nearly every skeptic/GBD demand is going to be adopted by UK gov

1/ 🧵Gaslighting and media misrepresentation, May edition.

Currently there's a push to remove masks and isolation in schools, some think nows the time, SAGE and ISAGE think otherwise.

Very tired of the abuse and accusations of an "agenda" just for thinking caution is best
2/ Scientists and Unions put out a letter calling to keep masks up to at least June.Yes we might want them after that but we don't want them forever as some might claim. This is part of the issue, misrepresentation

Some delightful replies to this tweet.⬇️
3/ Of course there will be trolls and the typical blue ticks but there have been ppl I respect who I think are usually thoughtful take an accusing tone.
Too political
Using children for my own agenda
Were the ones that annoyed me.

1/🧵So we enter another cycle of the covid news narrative.

GBD group put out another letter
Typical RW outlets amplify it to top of the news agenda
GBD representatives cover the broadcast media with interviews
Much of the scientific community calls it out
2/ Worth considering how the organised well funded and well connected GBD and the skeptic network uses the techniques of science denial. See how many you can spot in the various threads ill link into this
3/The false binary argument they make between remove all measures and permanent lockdown misrepresents their critics and allows Johnson to claim he's the sensible middle ground no matter how much of a gamble he takes.

1/🧵Beware the Catch Up stalking horse

For anyone who has seen how some of the worst practices of the private sector have been imported into education since Gove and Cummings got into the DfE, the awarding of Covid contracts should come as no suprise.
2/ As we hopefully move out of the pandemic through this year the government will have two focuses for education policy.

First is culture wars, they see this as a route to electoral success. It drives division, destroys sensible debate and creates enemies of opposing voices
3/ It also manufactures the outrage required as an excuse for rapid far reaching reforms, throw in disruption of Covid and Brexit and combine it with the governments audacity to lie and misinform its impossible to know how far this lot are willing to go.

1/ Thread

Earlier I made a misleading statement about the DfE.

I said they'd taken down their propoganda on Facebook...

I was wrong

Apparently we have smaller class sizes and social distancing in secondary classrooms.

2/ The lies and disinformation has gone on right from the start, the video even begins with the statement that DfE worked closely with the professions to draw up the guidence, blatant lie.

From the start of the crisis the government have refused to engage

3/ Lost count of how many evidence based questions ive worked on that have been sent to Johnson and Williamson on half of half a million education workers without receiving a reply.

This government has no idea of the meaning of consultation, look how they have treated so many

@CCHQPress @Conservatives @jeremycorbyn Can you count how many schools are going to be let down by Johnson's promises on education?
