1/ No one has the right to say that #Bitcoin wastes energy.

There are only personal preferences and markets and those who would impose “morality” on markets.

What about central banks? What about wars? In my view THOSE waste energy.

2/ And what about all the good that Bitcoin does? The freedoms it preserves? Is it so difficult to comprehend that maybe just maybe #Bitcoin is helping people’s lives more than central banks and war?
3/ But the real point is that who is to say what is a good use of energy and what is not? The answer is the market. Want to see how ridiculous energy moralizing can be?

I ran the numbers on washing machine electricity usage and I am APPALLED.

850m washing machines worldwide consume around 140 GWh of electricity every year.

I'm only washing my clothes with my hand from now on & will start a campaign to ban washing machines!

The washing machine community contains some of the world's most toxic and unpleasant individuals. Most the world's serial killers use washing machines.

These people are literally boiling oceans when hand-washing is an eco-friendly and sustainable alternative available to all.
Why should we as a society tolerate this selfishness of the washing machine community who want to consume electricity just to save time on hand-washing?

There are no social benefits to this waste when we are in a climate crisis & oceans are *literally* boiling.

Bitcoin is down more than $3,000 from its all-time-high value, making it clear the currency has no hope of ever succeeding.

While it's true bitcoiners may get wealthy by holding a scarce asset in inflationary times, it's only a small fringe group of internet weirdos who will actually want to get rich with bitcoin because it may entail some volatility along the way.

Bitcoin failed because it doesn't fit into the ancient definition of money we teach in college. This fatal flaw can't be overcome by offering people better tech to store & increase wealth over time, because people care more about definitions than wealth.
