@MichaelTanuvasa As I'm #ADOS, here's my idea:
We need universal basic services for EVERYONE (job guarantee, housing for all, education for all, Medicare for all, etc.) first so that any gains to the oppressed aren't immediately swallowed up by the system. 1/
@MichaelTanuvasa Once that's out of the way, then you can actually REPAIR or MAKE AMENDS (the word reparations comes from repair) the damage done by this corrupt system to #ADOS . 2/
@MichaelTanuvasa For me, it would begin with giving homes COMPLETELY paid off (and never taxed so no liens) to ALL #ADOS that don't currently own homes. This creates wealth that no one can take away. 3/

Everyone acknowledges now that GDP is a poor measure of progress.

According to recent #Reset report 2/3 of public want gov't to prioritise health/wellbeing over GDP (bit.ly/3hzKiYk)

This isnā€™t gonna happen while our economy is dependent on growth for its stability.

The way our current is set up, if GDP flatlines or contracts, we topple into crises of unemployment, debt, inequality and hardship.

Fear of the consequences of falling GDP is like a straitjacket on policymakers.

It badly impeded our response to Covid-19, for example.
