I am a traumatized Kenyan. Thread...

In the last one year there have been so many fundraisers, most for medical bills and funerals. Very few for ruracio & weddings.

I am in 7 groups last one month alone. Family, close friends, colleagues.
Commodity prices and taxation are through the roof. Cost of transportation, rent, education are unmanageable. Bills are now crazy after the excise duty increase.
Incomes have stagnated or disappeared across the board through all this. I've had people ask me for 1K, 2K, 10K... people who would never have before. Lakini hata mimi sina. Hakuna pesa!

The Senate is quarrelling over some 314 billion while Counties are dying and ethnic sycophants are cheering! This country is crap!

In the last financial year, Kenya paid Kshs 437b as interest on public debt.

Of this amount KShs 315b was spent on domestic debt service while Kshs 122b was spent on foreign debt service.

#PoliticalEducationKE
This despite 3.2T of public debt being domestic while 3.5T is foreign.

So 25% of our tax collection goes towards debt service.

We pay more money to service public debt than we give to counties for development.

There is nothing to show for Kenya’s public debt in the past seven years. The Central Bank of Kenya put the indebtedness — Sh3.496 trillion external debt and Ksh3.153 trillion in domestic borrowing — at Sh6.649 trillion as at May.

nation.co.ke/kenya/blogs-op…
The Covid-19 global pandemic compelled the government to borrow more.

The high public debt has led to a decline in employment opportunities, inability to provide quality services...

...institutionalised harsh business environment through exorbitant taxes to generate enough revenue to repay debts and more so, deprived counties of resources.

Listen to this idiocy! Northern Kenya and other traditionally marginalized regions are being compensated for historical injustices in order to bring them to same level as rest of Kenya. Land is just one factor!

If Central Kenyans want more money they should tell Kenyattans to stop stealing and invest their trillions of loot in productive ventures all over the region to spur economic growth. #UshenziKE!

Good evening class!

Prof. @DavidNdii says... "At 16,000 km2, the amount of land classified as of high agricultural potential in Marsabit is one-third bigger than the five counties of the old Central Province (12,000 km2).

#PoliticalEducationKE

Thread
This potential is underexploited, while that of Central is more or less exhausted. Where, then, should more agricultural development money go?"

Below are the Senators who stood with the elusive dream of a country and possibly a nation called Kenya. The other chose to vote for a return to the colonial outpost we are attempting to outgrow through Devolution.

@CulturedPaws: I woke up happy today. Then I logged into twitter. Your clown of a president has ordered the closure of all clinics providing contraceptives to teenagers, bearing in mind that he hasn't done anything to curb the rising pregnancy cases in the last few months.
Narok for example, 'enjoys'( said with all sarcasm I can master) a figure of 5800 cases in the last five months, but the clinics are a problem.

#CulturedPaws

#UshenziKE
Where are the funds for reproductive health in the county budgets? What has he done on the rising tape cases across the country? BUT contraceptives are a problem!

What a joke for a President!

In this day and age this is sickening @IG_NPS. Whatever she may have done there is no justification for this kind of colonial @NPSOfficial_KE brutality in "independent" Kenya year 2020! #UshenziKE

Mlango Kubwa MCA Hon Mutheu Musyimi seen being battered by rogue @NPSOfficial_KE at City Hall.

There is absolutely no justification for grown men to descend on a Kenyan, man or woman, this way @IG_NPS! These cops should be arrested and charged @IPOA_KE @NPSC_KE!

Musings... #CurfewKenya #EastleighLockdown

I was having a chat with a Somali brother who is locked down in Eastleigh earlier today and I got this epiphany that the curfew and #LockdownKE are not actually meant to control #COVID19KE... It's a cash cow!
That this is actually the usual colonial control tactic of subduing the natives similar to Alcoblow and traffic fines... pay cops poorly then set them free to extort their brothers and sisters... mothers...

#UshenziKE!

#EastleighLockdown
...Ensure cops are rewarded with "tea and mandazi" so that they don't join the rest of us in an uprising against their thieving employer but actually subjugate us through fear and extortion of bribes... while billions are looted by Muthamaki and his cabal...

People who fell for Uhuru's #iBeleive lie & Sonko Rescue Team stunts as a CV for Nairobi Governor, told us Mutahi Kagwe can be president as he's eloquent, are the same clueless Kenyans now telling us "Joho for President" because he has #COVID19 spray booths as his 8-year legacy!
Why do these Kenyans fall for the lies?

Ans by @JimmyShigi; A sad circumstance of our own making, the press which is supposed to be an enemy of tyrants by its very nature, is owned by the same people whose agenda it propagates with protection from our constitution.

#UshenziKE
Because, our press, being private enterprises, with rights pinned in our Constitution, continues to entertain this mediocrity and serve it in tranquilized doses through news cycles and now the talkshows manned by comedians and pseudo-celebrities...

Got this in my FB inbox...

@ForeignOfficeKE PS Ambassador Macharia Kamau was allegedly sacked by UNICEF Southern Africa office because of corruption... he was then the regional representative. Prior to that he was the @UNDP Country Representative for Rwanda.

#UshenziKE!
The SA incident is interesting... the guy allegedly had companies registered in other peoples' names that were doing business with the @UN including @UNICEF. When they got to know about it, it's alleged he was given the option to resign or be sacked.

#UshenziKE!
Mwai Kibaki's government, while knowing all this, allegedly salvaged, laundered & rehabilitated him then took him back into the UN system as Kenya's representative at the UN in New York.
