1/ Embracer Group posted earnings for their Q3 2021 (Oct - Dec 2021). By most metrics, it's a healthy quarter, with earnings coming in significantly higher YoY. Like other publishers, spending, headcount, and other metrics are up, cutting into margin. #gamingnews #investors
2/ Embracer is the "biggest" they've ever been, with 25 AAA titles in development (through 2026). Like other publishers, the influx of cash from the pandemic went to fueling future growth. They are also preparing for listing on Nasdaq Stockholm.
3/ Highlights include #HotWheelsUnleashed, #DeepRockGalactic, #Valheim, and #Satisfactory. They also discussed acquisitions but we're careful to keep statements at a high level & cautious.

#gamedev #gameart quick trick.
If you are working on super low poly models, like those in the wonderful #valheim, you can get weird shading effects due to extreme normals averaging- which gets the lighting from vastly different directions.
Here, the tip of the ponytail is getting its shading from diagonally down infront of the character. On the edited version, I pointed it to the direction that the front polys would be facing- at right angles to her chest.
This is what is happening. Here a blue light is above and a red one below. The first shape has a hard edge- the vertex normals point up or down. The middle is averaged (smooth edge) and the third is edited so they all point up.

Tonight's coping strategy against ennui closing in was to build a jolly little tavern in our family #Valheim village with a four fermenter brewery out back.
Waiting for Hearth and Home to hopefully get more set decorations and... dare I hope... openable shuttered windows.
Along with our Tavern, we have a workshop, piggery, great hall, a farm cottage, an archery range (shields attached to wall mountings make excellent bullseye targets), a wizards tower, a forge and cute little food storage silo in the apiary. There is also a pet pig.
My fave thing in the DnD style adventurer's board in the town centre. We pin signs to the board as if they are missions, listing things we need gathered or built.
