Headline CPI is forecasted to come in at 6.5% YoY, compared to 7.1% the month before. CPI has clearly been trending downward since June 2022, which is positive for the #economy and risky assets as it puts a ceiling on how high the #FederalReserve has to raise rates.

CPI swaps indicate that CPI should be approx. 2.5% (!) this June. This seems to be an example of the "Gambler's Fallacy"; a misunderstanding of #probabilities in which people wrongly project reversal towards a long-term mean.

Delighted to share our latest preprint in which we describe a ubiquitous complexity architecture of large-scale brain activity - a "human complexome" that unifies important organizational principles of functional brain networks. biorxiv.org/content/10.110ā¦
With @Schwaenina @LeoWaschke @AmyRomanello @martin_gell @Garrett_Neuro and @carstenfinke, we looked at the #variability of resting-state BOLD signals and found that the #brain shows spontaneous episodes of neural regularity that become apparent as transient "complexity drops".
The tendency of brain regions to engage in these complexity drops together strongly explained functional connectivity strength between them - convergent with the co-fluctuations described by @FarnazZEs @richardfbetzel - and reflected canonical resting-state networks. @bttyeo
#Cough š«š¬ļø is important for ejecting foods and liquids from the #lungs to prevent #asphyxiation and #aspiration #pneumonia. In this tutorial, we will discuss why and how to assess voluntary #cough as a way to enhance your clinical #swallow evaluation. (Warning: long thread!)
Evaluating #cough is important three reasons. First, weak coughs (#dystussia) are associated with #dysphagia and #aspiration in many patient populations. Therefore, assessing cough can improve the accuracy of predicting and identifying someone with #dysphagia.
Second, assessing #cough provides a more holistic understanding of #airway protection. In other words, we should try to understand how well a patient with #dysphagia can clear #aspirate material from the airway, in addition to understanding how frequently/severely they aspirate.
