1/ Good Tuesday morning, and a thought: #COVID19 did not run rampant in our nation's nursing homes because the people there tended to be old and older. The disease caused by the novel coronavirus/SARS-CoV-2 spread in those homes because of people density. #vtpoli @GovPhilScott
2/ Evidence for the above fact and truth can be found in the easy spread of COVID19 on our federal naval vessels. Aircraft carriers are not, of course, havens for the aged, and this proves the young and healthy can (what I call) 'crowd spread' COVID with ease.
3/ And yes, the young do get violently ill from COVID19. And yes, the young do pass the virus on to their family, friends, acquaintances, co-workers, and complete strangers.

THREAD: Today, I’m calling all Vermonters into service with the launch of a new website allowing people to sign up for volunteer assistance to support our response to COVID-19. I’m asking every Vermonter to dig deep and find a way to help. #vtpoli 1/15

As we prepare for a surge in COVID-19 cases expected in the coming weeks, it will require each of us to do our part to ease the burden on our health care system, the struggles of those less fortunate, and, ultimately, to save the lives of our friends and neighbors. 2/15
Those with medical experience or other health care backgrounds and the ability to volunteer are needed to bolster the ranks of Vermont’s current health care workforce. 3/15

(1/) Good morning #vtpoli. States of emergency; social distancing; closures; quarantines; and more. Welcome to our (at the very least) near future. But ... yes, there's a 'but' in here ... @GovPhilScott @SenSanders @SenatorLeahy @PeterWelch #vtleg #COVID2019 #COVID19
(2/) People still need people and social interaction. Little kids still need hugs and playtime. Hospitals, fire departments, local ambulance services, food and fuel delivery systems, and more still need to operate on a daily basis. ISOLATION IS NOT A SOLUTION!
(3/) Many people have spent the last couple of decades giving voice to the phrase "thank you for your sacrifice". It is now time to stop thanking others and ask yourself "what can I do to help OTHERS through this situation?"

Pineapple on Pizza? Yes, please! @CISAgov uses the #WarOnPineapple to show how foreign bad actors sow chaos to undermine election integrity: target divisive issues; create fake accounts; amplify & distort; take it mainstream; & move it offline. #protect2020 Think before you link!
@CISAgov What can you do? Only repeat information from trusted sources. Think twice about engaging with accounts you don't know. These may be fake accounts, "trolls" or "bots" that are seeking to divide us.
@CISAgov Through misinformation and disinformation, other countries are trying to drive the wedges between Americans, discourage voters and rattle our confidence in our democracy, so please think before you link! #vtpoli

Yesterday the @TimesArgus published a story about the senseless murder of Courtney Gaboriault at the hands of her abusive ex-boyfriend. This fundamentally flawed article demands a formal response. #btv #vt #vtpoli timesargus.com/articles/offic…
Despite the headline, the @timesargus spends considerable space glorifying a domestic abuser and murderer, and dismissing his victim as an afterthought. And let’s be clear: He is no victim. #btv #vt #vtpoli
The first mention in the story of a human being is of the killer, in the lede, referring to him in positive terms. #btv #vt #vtpoli
