Last night's fire at #WakefieldMA’s First Baptist Church was devastating and awful. Not only did the town lose a cherished landmark: the community also lost a gathering place for congregants and a school for some of the town's youngest children.
We are all grateful for the professionalism, courage and excellence of all of the first responders, especially the #WakefieldMA Fire and Police Departments. Thank you also to all of the communities who responded with mutual aid.
As the Town Administrator acknowledged in his statement on this tragedy, Town Hall is open, and the #WakefieldMA community is ready and willing to respond and rebuild.
