“The phone has in fact been turned on again since Johnson had the security advice back in April 2021

Lord Geidt revealed as much when he issued Johnson with a telling off over wallpapergate back in December of that year”

Was that done under the supervision of security experts?
And why was it switched on? What activities undertaken? Witnessed by whom?

H/t @HarryYorke1 ‘s eagle eye:

This is what Geidt said in his letter of Jan 2022 ( ref #WallpaperGate non disclosure) :-
“(Johnson’s Office) have told me that in April 2021, in light of a wellpublicised security breach, you implemented security advice relating to a mobile device. The effect was that historic messages, potentially including the Missing Exchange, were no longer available to search”

Who is Alan Mabbutt?

A new Tory website paints union donations to @UKLabour, collected from workers in every sector, as some kind of problem.

In 2017, @Conservatives received 10 TIMES MORE in donations than Labour, much of it from dodgy Russians & non-dom tax-avoiders! Image
The website is "Promoted by Alan Mabbutt on behalf of the Conservative Party".

In 2021 he was (still is) the Conservative Party DG & Registered Treasurer, & was named by the Electoral Commission in this damning report into Johnson's #wallpapergate lies.

“It has now been claimed that an email exchange, details of which have been shared with this newspaper, showed that staff discussed the gathering in advance and were warned by officials that it might be a breach of the rules.”
Some officials forbad the use of some rooms, but it went ahead anyway…complete with karaoke machine organised by Helen MacNamara, the ethics lead.

Not her finest hour.
On the other hand Carrie is not a fan of MacNamara due to her stance on #wallpapergate so Carrie has a motive to distract attention from HER lockdown parties…including the raucous ABBA party when Cummings left

Sue Gray is not investigating @Keir_Starmer's new accusation that @BorisJohnson broke the Ministerial Code by lying to Parliament about parties, a resigning matter. Clear job for his adviser on Ministerial Standards, Lord Geidt, has no power to initiate investigations.
Gray's report will have to reproduce the PM's defence and - like Lord Geidt recently over #wallpapergate and the "Missing Exchange" with Brownlow - have to take his his word. As with Geidt's report, I predict the government will leak headlines in advance with a positive spin.
The truth is Johnson knows he has a lot of control over the presentation of the facts in a report by a civil servant - which is why he has asked people to wait for the report.
