1. Reverse positives instead of negatives
This will be the toughest bar to reach. Basically, I'm going to try to phase everything in positive, neutral, or reverse positive terms.
Instead of "I hate <X>"
- "I don't love X"
- "Not psyched about X"
- "Not happy about X"

3/ This might seem like a subtle distinction, but actually it's quite powerful. Reverse positive language gets the central point across about a negative expression, but without language that has a stronger association.

1/ I’ve been asked about this a lot recently, so here’s my update.
It’s been 17 months since I started the #WaterOnlyChallenge where the only beverage I drink is water.
Nope — no coffee, tea, diet soda, kombucha or anything but still water, full stop.

2/ It was tough at first given I was a chronic cola drinker my entire life, but it got easier and easier with each passing month. Now I rarely think of drinking anything else as the habit is strongly ingrained.
3/ One of the more interesting comments I get from some people is:
“Oh yeah, I pretty much only drink water. That and a little bit of coffee.”
Me: “How often do you drink coffee?”
- “Pretty much every day.”
