Ready for the #CFB Analytics Spring Top 40? Here we go. This Power Ranking is derived from a model which utilizes full Coach Staff efficiency metrics, roster talent, & returning production among other metrics. No opinion here, I just regurgitate the numbers. #NoOpinionJustNumbers
40 #Kentucky #BBN #SEC Power Rating: 61.726
Returning Production for the Wildcats may be a problem. At 39.72%, it puts them at 113th in the country. The schedule is manageable tho drawing Ole Miss & Miss State out the West. #CFB
39 #Washington #PurpleReign #Pac12
Power Rating: 62.271
Really like the new coaching staff in Seattle. Should put them in a better position to win. Roster talent purge from the prev regime will have an early effect (last 2 classes were 39th, 86th) but the ship has been righted.

The #WeAre story by @imaginewmarcus: When I first met Jon Batiste, he was dressed in a well tailored, bright yellow suit. He greeted everyone with a southern drawl, sang everyone’s name, hugged them as if meeting them were a cause for not only him but for the world to celebrate…
but I immediately perceived that there was something deeper, that those who were merely amused didn’t quite understand what they were seeing. Now that he has taken a prominent place in the fabric of American Culture, we all see a lot more of Jon. We see the Musical Director of…
Late Night with Stephen Colbert bringing jazz to national television. We see a march leader and advocate for justice alchemizing frustration and ennui into love through music. We see a Grammy nominated pianist bearing the blazing torch of Black Culture and lighting up clubs…

A wild ride this past #MUBB season was...

low expectations that were raised dramatically before achieving a laudable milestone and finishing with a thud.

(1/x)
In preparation for Year One, Shaka threw together a roster in about 45 days and developed that bunch into an NCAA tourney/top half of the #BigEast team. A remarkable achievement.
Because of our first rate Marquette education, we can believe two contradictory thoughts.

#mubb both exceeded expectations and was disappointing.

This thread will detail my last two years with PSU with an emphasis on the past few months.

This is NOT a criticism of the university or any of its employees, I’m not promoting a positive or negative view of either. I’m simply stating what has happened in the past two years
Since I have arrived at penn state the entire staff had been fixated on my weight. I came in light for my position and understandably they wanted me to increase my weight. So that became my goal, gaining had always been difficult for me but I was going to try my hardest so I
could compete at the highest level possible. Fast forward a bit, to put it bluntly, I’m struggling with my on Field performance, strength, as well as putting on the weight they wanted me to. As soon as I thought I put on consistent gains I would lose, as many people who have

I have been curious about the changes to ICU capacity capacity. The weekly data captured at healthdata.gov/sites/default/……… now shows data through the week of 12/11. At first blush, the data doesn't appear to have changed much since the prior week. 1/n Image
2/n The aspect I am most curious about is the reporting of the data. An example of this is in reporting of ICU beds available and used. See below for one PA example: It is confusing to see the beds at this facility change during the weeks of 10/2 and 9/18 #covid #hospitals Image
3/n In contrast, note the reporting at this alternative #Pennsylvania hospital: While the average total #ICU beds increase slightly during the two most recent weeks, in contrast with the prior example, this hospital shows a percentage used < 100%. #LehighValley #ABE #Bethlehem Image

I am a student at Penn State University Park Campus. Despite what they say, the school is not keeping its students, employees, or community safe. They need to stop in-person classes immediately.

Thread. 1/?
My zip code is the worst in PA in terms of number of cases, and charts of national growth rates had us in the top 5 worst zip codes in the country. A few weeks before school started, Governor Tom Wolf moved my county to the green zone. When cases spiked, we did not go back.
There are nearly 1400 confirmed COVID-19 cases on campus, making it over 1000 per 100,000 people. The local community expected this kind of spike, but Penn State decided to bring students back anyway. 3/?

Version 3 of the #CFBPlayoff rankings were released last night. What you expected? If youve followed along since early Oct you know the process. You werent surprised. For the rest of you, lets take a look & compare to what was projected using the same process used for 5 yrs.
First off, why does the committee use this process? Think about it. 14 busy guys make up this committee. They have roughly 60 hrs from when the last game ends on Sat to when they need to have this Top 25 created on Tues. If they evaluate only 30 teams to get that 25, how much
time is adequate to evaulate? 1 hr? Thats 30 hrs of evaluation. Half the time is gone & no one has slept. The process of getting a consensus out of 14 people hasnt even started. Thats why this process is kept so simple, & its why they have a defined predictable process.
