Basotho are not necessarily a tribe, they were founded as a nation by Moshoeshoe who married women from different ethnic groups with the vision of peacefully forming a black nation. Mosotho means a black person, it comes from the word sootho which means brown #WeDontNeedTribalism 
Tribal allegiances were fine before the 19th century but we're now in the 21st century. Like nations in Asia, we should evolve beyond that phase so we can build solid & prosperous nations. Just make sure you preserve your language & your culture will be safe. #wedontneedtribalism
There is no country on earth that has made significant economic & technological progress by hanging on to tribal allegiances. All the countries (like South Korea, Japan, Germany, Singapore & Rwanda) with fast growing economies have evolved beyond prehistoric tribal allegiances.
