Every month or so, the Woman Has Said a Bad Word circus comes to town. This time around, the woman is Greta Thunberg, who has been a target of countless powerful misogynist pricks since her early teens.

Good for you, Greta

feministgiant.com/p/essay-why-i-…
And I don't give a flying fuck what she said to that misogynist prick.

If you think she owes a self-described misogynist any form of "sensitivity" and you're attacking her for "body shaming" him, you've got it upside down.

Fuck him and his small dick energy.
Whether we are urged to be civil to racists or polite to patriarchy, the goal is the same: to maintain the power of the racist, to maintain the power of patriarchy.

Care less about the feelings of misogynist fucks and more about the actual violence they incite.

I wrote this on the obsession with "civility" and #WhyISayFuck

feministgiant.com/p/essay-why-i-…
Patriarchy reserves for itself the power to offend, the power to be obscene. And yet it wastes no time in policing women’s mouths as vehemently as it does the genitals of anyone who is not a cisgender heterosexual man.

I LOVE that I still live rent free in the minds of these Australian racist, misogynist fucks, three years after I scared them shitless and turned their country upside down with a TV episode that their ostensible democracy banned. Ha! Cry more! And fuck off.
“How long must we wait for men and boys to stop murdering us, to stop beating us and to stop raping us? How many rapists must we kill?" 10 months ago I said that on an Australian TV show. A bunch of white men complained and the episode was banned.

I remind you that soon after airing live, it was banned and has never been unbanned even though the govt media body cleared it for replay.

Fuck civility

From the chapter on Profanity. Who determines what is “civil” and what is “rude?” Who benefits from upholding those social codes? Under the British and other empires, white, Christian values
So fuck the royal family, fuck the monarchy, and abolish the monarchy everywhere #AbolishTheMonarchy #WhyISayFuck feministgiant.com/p/essay-why-i-…
It is imperative to understand how civility, decorum, manners, and the like are used to uphold authority—patriarchy, whiteness, other forms of privilege—and that we are urged to acquiesce as a form of maintaining that authority

These are clips from Australian TV show Q&A that are making the rounds again. Always good to see! I remind you that soon after airing live, it was banned and has never been unbanned even though the govt media body cleared it for replay.

Had my 1st public fight in ages last night and wow am I foul mouthed! And woe anyone who thinks they can talk about me & my dinner companion loud enough for me to hear and think I won’t educate them in just how foul mouthed. I enjoyed iterations of “Fuck” I yelled at this person
As @rerutled, my dinner companion can tell you, she was certainly not expecting it. I actually asked her, before I unleashed,"Do you have a problem?" and she actually said "Yes, I do." And that was her first mistake of the night because I taught what an actual problem with me was
As you can see, her dinner companion left because she couldn't take fuckface up there in the video anymore and a neighbouring table also told her to shut up.

Give me a racist who goes low with me and I'll show you just how utterly into the gutter I'll take them, and then more.

Once while standing in line at Denver airport security, a white man — another passenger waiting to go through — demanded I “prove” I was a U.S. citizen. “Fuck you!” was my immediate response. #WhyISayFuck feministgiant.com/p/essay-why-i-…
Another white man immediately and predictably chimed in: “Language! Language!” But what is really more offensive here, the first man’s white supremacist fuckery or my language?

If you think that’s a serious question, then fuck you too.
#WhyISayFuck
I say “fuck” because that’s what racism deserves. I am from the “If they go low, I will fucking come for them” school of thought. I refuse to be polite or civil with anyone who does not acknowledge my full humanity. #WhyISayFuck

I love that the NYT is covering the sweary cheerleader victory because when I was still a contributing opinion writer for the NYT, James Bennet, the editor of the opinion pages, insisted that I stop saying “fuck" on Twitter. So I launched #WhyISayFuck feministgiant.com/p/essay-why-i-…
He insisted I especially stop saying “flying fuck,” as in “I don’t give a flying fuck” on social media. Not in the columns that I wrote for the paper, but on Twitter. I was never an employee of the Times. He said the word “fuck” wasn’t conducive to conversation.
The next day, I launched #WhyISayFuck on Twitter, published an essay--in another publication--about why I say “fuck,” and wrote a proposal for a book that called on women to practise 7 “sins” I believe are necessary to destroy the patriarchy. #WhyISayFuck penguinrandomhouse.com/books/609114/t…

I’m a massive fan of profanity. We must recognize that the ubiquitous ways patriarchy socializes women to shrink themselves - physically and intellectually - extend also into language, into what we can and cannot say. feministgiant.com/p/essay-why-i-… #WhyISayFuck
At the heart of that policing, standing guard over our language like a baton ready to strike, is civility. Patriarchy reserves for itself the power to offend, the power to be obscene. (This Australian TV episode was banned from rebroadcast)
Patriarchy wastes no time in policing women’s mouths as vehemently as it does the genitals of anyone who not a cisgender heterosexual man. Profanity is an essential tool in disrupting patriarchy and its rules.

This essay about James Bennett is a necessary reminder of the misogyny & boys club undergirding US media and how white men protect each other. Bennett - who left the NYT after publishing a fascist senator’s oped - has predictably landed on his feet. jenzerb.medium.com/i-left-my-care…
