I live disability theory. I don't need to read a lot of it.

If I was always reading disability theory, I would NOT BE READING other thinkers I want to read, like Cicero, Epictetus, et al.

Ex: Everyone telling me to read Sara Ahmed's COMPLAINT rn. I'm living Ahmed's book rn. Back cover of epiphany maga...
That photo is the back cover of @epiphanylit . It shows Sara Ahmed's essay "No," a very good essay, alongside my essay, "Some Husbands I Work With."

I had to publish that piece as a "short story" at the time. I told the Editor, "You know this is real, right? I don't feel safe."
Editor at Epiphany? Totally fantastic. Understood that I would change a few minor details, thereby fictionalizing my life, so that the husbands at my work place would not 1) sue me nor 2) hurt me. #AcademicTwitter

In light of the recent events involving the owners of #Cannoli and their manager,
we at the Centre for Labour Research (CLR), in the interest of protecting the
fundamental human #right to #dignity, condemn any and all forms of #harassment.

The viral video in which the owners of Cannoli are seen singling out and
humiliating their manager due to his inability to speak the colonisers language for
their entertainment depicts a form of #workplaceharassment. Such behaviour is
unacceptable.

It is the responsibility of the employer to ensure that each and every employee,
regardless of their #employment status, the sector of employment, or their
occupation feel safe, respected and included at the workplace.

Most men that I know, men who respect women as equals, are shocked when allegations come out about people like #HarveyWeinstein, #BillCosby, #LouisCK. They are in shock when men they know are accused of sexually harassing or assaulting women. THREAD 1 #BelieveWomen #RWU #MeToo
Some men find it very hard to believe that these things are so common, because they would never DO those things. If I were a man and I hadn’t experienced harassment and inappropriate behavior multiple times, I would probably find it difficult to believe. 2 #MeToo #BelieveHer
I decided to share about what I’ve experienced, so that good men who respect women can start to understand that these things happen to women know they know, work with, are related to, and love, every day. Their friends, neighbors, coworkers, relatives. 3 #sexualharassment
