The conflict that the US and European powers are provoking with Russia over Ukraine threatens the globe with a catastrophe beyond measure. On the basis of outright lies, the world is being driven to the brink of World War III.
There is a madness in this policy, but it is a madness with objective causes. The drive to war is fueled by a toxic mixture of imperialist geopolitics and insoluble internal crises, enormously exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
