I did this back in December, but almost everything has changed since, so it is really interesting to see!

The Magpies’ SM reach isn’t huge but they sure did attract a Premier League star to their ground for Non League Day.

Like Aldershot, Barnet have staged a clever reply to comments, which come from Notts County, branding their goal as a “scrappy leveller”.

🧵Here’s my thread on #WxmAFC newest recruit Eoghan O’Connell

I look at his strengths and weaknesses, and why I feel the League One defender is a good signing

(Video credit to Charlton on this one) Image
Firstly, I wanted to address where I think he will play in the back 3. For Charlton he played in a back 4, and played on both sides, Altho I felt his best work was done on the left

With JT injured for a long period, EOC has the chance to cement his place at LCB Image
The first thing to note is EOC’s composure on the ball. From LCB he will be able to step up, carry the ball forwards and add an extra passing outlet

EOC plays 52.85 passes per 90; more than any other Wrexham player

#WxmAFC proved the #NationalLeague has plenty of quality in their 3-3 draw with #SUFC

They did plenty of things really well in the game - here’s a thread 🧵 looking at what they did. A short analysis 👇
Here’s a move they executed early in the 2nd half. They did a really good job of restricting the game to one half off the pitch

Down the left they were especially potent as it’s where Elliot Lee was most active
They look to use the channels, something Sheff Utd had real trouble defending

The threat of Tozer’s set pieces put SU on edge when defending, making it easier for Wrexham to play their game in these lateral zones

Despite being 1-0 down at half time #WxmAFC are doing some things really well

Here’s a short thread on Wrexham’s first half against #SUFC 🧵👇
Their front 2, as always, are making themselves real nuisances. Both are physically really capable, and their work rate is really paying off

Sheff Utd aren’t able to get anything going. They’re constantly on the back foot due to Palmer & Mullin’s harassment
At the end of the half this chance almost got the equaliser. It comes from from Palmer’s hard work once again

Mullin is so destructive in these 1 on 1s. SU need to do something about it as that gap is so inviting for him

Luke Young is potentially the most underrated player in the league. Wrexham’s number 8 has been an ever present this season

Here’s a thread on the midfielder, covering why he could be the most important #WxmAFC player 🧵👇
Firstly, Young has played 2,451 minutes so far this season. That ranks him 16th for the whole league.

Of #WxmAFC players only Howard (2,638), Tozer (2,638) and Hayden (2,542) have played more minutes. Straight away we can see his importance
Young operates to the right of a midfield 3, playing as the shuttler, providing energy between both boxes

O’Connor plays at the base, while Lee to the left is given a free role. Young therefore has a lot of running and ground to cover

Here’s my thread 🧵 of my thoughts on todays #NationalLeague games

Let’s start at the top where both #Notts and #WxmAFC won 4-0. They’re matching each other blow for blow and are both magnificent sides. The argument for 2 automatic promotion places couldn’t be stronger
Jeff King and Darren Oldaker are two of the best in the league (both made it into our @notts_stats Team of the First Quarter), and both were on the scoresheet as #Spireites continued their good form

They’ve had 3 really tough games this week so 7 points from them is very good
I had Dagenham on the group acca, so a 4-1 win wasn’t surprising. Wealdstone are really dipping off now, a massive shame. Morias got another 2 goals, such an exciting player to watch

#TheShots have had an unbelievable turnaround; winning away at Dorking is tough, especially 3-0!

Here are my #NationalLeague thoughts after todays games

Firstly #Alty are finally coming good, and looking like the side I’ve predicted them to be all season. 3 wins in 4, and getting the rewards for playing the right way. Great to see @MullarkeyToby on the scoresheet, top player
#Spireites have lost 3 on the bounce and must be worries about results. Even starting Kabby didn’t help. Huge credit to Eastleigh who continue to have a good season

Maidstone stopped the rot finally with a late equaliser; hope this is a turning point for them
#Iron might have been 3-1 up, but #TheShots did brilliantly to come from behind and rescue a point. Apter is some player for Scunthorpe

A great win for #WeAreTheWood capitalising on a #WeAreBromley slip up. A tough away day too so fair play to Garrard’s side

🆕🧵 Here’s my thread on #Notts win over #WxmAFC

A closely fought game and the type of performance we haven’t seen from us at this level

All video credit to Notts and Wrexham
This free kick, wow, exceptional. The false run from Palmer that allows Ruben to step back onside just at the right moment, catching them out. The run from Matty down the right, the nutmeg from Ruben. And Macca being in the right place stepping off just enough, and quality finish
We always get Cameron up into the half space, and I was worried we would struggle against a strong side but we didn’t. Cameron is such a threat offensively, and the weight of cross is perfect here too. Macca is surprisingly good in the air too; this will bring goals
