It seems that #Zoltan has been quite busy lately!

The newest, already 5th part of his "War"-series, was published on January 6th.

In this little #thread i've summarized some of the highlights of his piece "War and Peace:

🧵
"... four “war” dispatches last year: War and Interest Rates, War and Industrial Policy, War and Commodity Encumbrance, and finally, War and Currency Statecraft. In these, I identified six fronts (..) in “macro-land” () where Great Powers were going “at it” in 2022:
"the G7’s financial blockade of Russia, Russia’s energy blockade of the EU, the U.S.’s technology blockade of China, China’s naval blockade of Taiwan, the U.S.’s “blockade” of the EU’s EV sector with the Inflation Reduction Act,

But let's start digging into this week, should we?
Last week we experienced a rally in #crypto with #Eth leading the way with a speculative date on the merge happening on September 19th.

BTC managed to rally breaking the trendline at resistance and the realized price, but failed to maintain those as support ImageImageImage

We are now entering the second stage of the busting of the #everythingbubble.

On Mar 2, 2020 I laid out some thoughts for the sequence of events during and post the COVID shock. Time for a short retrospective and some ideas what may happen next.
The the initial market reaction to the pandemic and the lockdown was highly deflationary.
The easy part was predicting that monetary and fiscal policy would throw everything they had onto the “deflationary crisis”. Pointing out the chance of severe price inflation and the opportunities that lay in investing in commodities definitely was way more outlandish.

Dear @Alberta_UCP voters registering in the thousands for the leadership vote, heed my warning: Kicking out @jkenney will not save this province. Replacing him w/@BrianJeanAB will not undo the damage of the last 3yrs.

If you vote UCP again, there will be dire consequences. 1/7
I watched excellent doctors leave in 2020 due to the UCP fight w/doctors. But these were only the docs who were given opportunities to leave & weren't easily tied to this province. The rest of us stayed behind and fought b/c leaving wasn't so simple & we hoped for change 2/7
However, every doctor I've spoken to, from the wealthiest specialist to the part time Family Doc, has said they have discussed/thought of an exit plan from this province if this govt remains in power. We are too demoralized by how the UCP handled this pandemic & we are done 3/7

I've been quiet too long.
Today's events were a distraction by our fascist provincial gov't to make people stop talking about:

- millions of rapid COVID tests that they are holding back to enfore a false scarcity to destabilize public health care and promote private health care
our Premier's blatantly false rhetoric that the hostile takeover of ATRF is OK b/c it is backed by public funds when it is not, it's backed by the teacher stakeholders, laws were changed to ensure this #handsoffmypension
.@JustinTrudeau offered premiers help to proactively battle #Omicron on Dec 11 but was told no thanks, using argument that it is provincial responsibly - all deaths from now are squarely on these premiers

Who’s bankrolling the yahoos organizing this #spreadneck parade? Who’s paying to print their protest signs?

#ableg #ycc #MaskUp
.@robbpettit noticed someone walking past the camera at about 0:10 who appears to be John Carpay.

Maybe Carpay knows who’s helping to finance this operation?

If Carpay’s “Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms” (JCCF) is in fact helping to fund this #spreadneck parade, then it makes sense to look at who funds them....
