When almost all frontline staff tell the public, the media & anyone who will listen that EMS leadership is CORRUPT, maybe someone in a position of power needs to take action!

We don’t yet know how much $$ these 6 “leaders” have stolen.

What we do know … 1/
Is that staff have been saying for YEARS that the top 3-4 tiers of EMS need to be replaced. If they are good ppl, they will earn their way back in.

We also know that EMS is small & other leaders have likely been complacent in some of the other unethical practices occurring. 2/
An example? The Chief Paramedic’s wife, stalking FB in order to make complaints abt EMS frontline staff. Causing the staff members extreme stress, suspensions & discipline. What did the staff do to deserve this? Told the public the TRUTH abt the EMS crisis. 3/

Patients are my greatest teachers & recently I’ve had a patient unexpectedly become one of my biggest cheerleaders - a 🧵

Over the past few mths, I’ve been providing #PalliCare to a patient whose elderly body is ailing them while their mind remains extraordinary & vibrant. 1/
During our visits at their home, I’ve learned that they immigrated to Canada bringing with them diverse life experiences, spending their adult lifetime in academia. They live alone, so upon realizing how big of a nerd I am, they have generously shared their passions & slivers 2/
of their vast knowledge & wisdom with me. Even assigning me homework! Each visit I leave inspired, wishing I had taken notes during these precious conversations. It is an incredible honour to share time with them caring for their body/mind/spirit. I always look forward to it. 3/

As announced yesterday by @AlbertaHealth, #YourEMS paramedics & emergency medical responders are now eligible for COVID-19 immunization in all zones.
This applies to both AHS paramedic staff & those paramedics working with our contracted service providers. Emails will be sent from AHS to eligible staff to book an appt. Please ensure you check your e-mail for info.
AHS is using an online booking system to schedule immunization of newly eligible health care workers. This applies to both AHS staff and our contracted service providers.
