Jess was made a ward of the state as a child, dad had schitziphrenia, mother had addiction issues, and Jess described “finding acceptance in all the wrong people and they made me feel safe”

THREAD: Five days ago five officers were relieved of duty at the juvenile detention center. To date, not a single news outlet has reported anything more about what they may have done. We know the facility is crowded and understaffed. Our children deserve better. #YouthJustice 1/4
.@ReporterGarriss spoke to a former officer at the facility who told her that staffing levels were insufficient currently. The recommended 8 to 1 ratio is not possible. Now there are five fewer officers, which seems like a significant number. 2/4 fox13memphis.com/top-stories/fo…
