I missed it, but after talking with @kmbc photographer Mark Midgorden who was in the courtroom, he said the defense tried to get the case thrown out this morning saying the prosecution didn't meet its burden of proof.
The judge denied it.

Says there was no activity on any of Kara's social media, phone, email after 5/4/07. He interviewed Yust who said he didn't know anything about where Kara was, accused her of 'running around w/ different guys.'
Jones: Yust said he & Kara talked on 4/3 and she had plans to meet with friends & that made him mad. Jones got Kara's full phone records.

A jury of 13 women and three men is now in transit from St. Charles County. The jury has four alternates. Opening statements will begin this afternoon. The trial is scheduled to last three weeks.

Now -- defense and prosecution are disputing information regarding witnesses. Specifically, regarding another man who allegedly confessed to killing Kara Kopetsky. Judge says he will hold a hearing during the trial on the witness. @kmbc #yusttrial
