We start the day with Russian losses. The uptake today is low compared to other days. This might have to do with outages troughout the whole country. Let's assume these numbers are incomplete.
This morning it became known that the SBU has put leader of #Belarus, #Lukashenko on the wanted list. Same like the entire leadership and mouthpieces of the Russian government.

The vein was in the tail today. #Russia announced that it would voluntarily but with some encouragement evacuate all citizens and agencies to the other side of the #Dnipr.

We start with #Russian losses. We passed the 65.000 mark and are now steadily climbing towards 70.000. The daily rate on men losses are stable between 350-500 a day.
During the day, units of the Defense Forces repelled the attacks of the occupiers in the areas of settlements: #Ohirtseve, Kharkiv oblast; #Bilohorivka, Luhansk oblast; #Novokalynove and #Maryinka, Donetsk oblast.

One of the most puzzling reports of the war thus far: For days now we have heard about a #Ukrainian bridgehead east of the river. We keep hearing UA has captured #Zarichne & #Metalivka. Also that they are holding Verkhnia Pysarivka on the way to strategic #Vovchansk.
While I was quite skeptical, the situation is no clearer after quite a few days. The reporting is everywhere with the likes of this for example:

New Sat images confirm for us, as of May 23 and as I suspected, that there is no bridge anywhere. The bridge at Staryi Saltiv is still down. There is no bridge anywhere near the captured villages in the wide (dammed) part of the river. Neither is there one further north.

destroyed. Though there is much cloud cover, no visible pontoon bridge is seen elsewhere on the river. What is perhaps more likely, and caused the misreporting, is that #Ukrainian DRG units crossed at the still intact bridge (at least as of May 13th) around Starytsya & attacked
#Izyum Axis & ISW Map Update - Intense fighting continues to the south, west and east of Izyum. #Russian forces continue to drive S in an attempt to cut off logistics (Road/Rail) routes to #Sloviansk & #Kramatorsk. They are 10km from a critical rail (yellow arrow) S of Kurul’ka.

#Ukrainian governor of #Luhansk Oblast confirmed today that around half of #Popasna is controlled by #Russia but UAF is still contesting the city. RUAF has likely taken the city center but only barely. No discernible changes in the city today, only new confirmations of control.
