When Zhongli kisses Childe, he expects him to bite back. Just a little nip and there, the worrying of his teeth against soft, pliant lips. How Childe might want to swallow down the sounds that Zhongli looses as he leans closer, leeching Childe’s warmth.
Childe, though, usually kisses him back sweetly. The soft press of their mouths, the gentle explorations of their tongues. It’s too much and not enough. Zhongli loves the soft-handedness but also craves more.

“Figure it out,” she snaps, hand trembling. He won’t hurt her and she knows that. Childe just looks at her and sighs, rubbing his face. “Sooner, rather than later,” she adds as an afterthought.
Sooner is too soon, and Childe nearly runs when he finds himself in the presence of Zhongli. Things are different now; Zhongli is no longer just a prim funeral consultant with strange eccentricities, he’s Morax, Rex Lapis, a multitude of other fancy titles that must exist.
